A Burger to be Reckoned With

Will you have a look at that burger? Man, just makes your mouth water uncontrollably, doesn't it? Yeah. I know. Mine too. It's one I used to get from a place called Spangles when I traveled for work in Wichita, Kansas.
This one was a delectable treat to be reckoned with. A 1/3-pound sourdough garlic, bacon and Parmesan steak burger.
I can actually taste it now, and I am finding myself really longing for one. It's been a while. I have been retired for over a year now, and even if I am going to take a trip to Kansas, I wouldn't be making the extra trek to Wichita.
Except maybe for that sandwich. I mean, it's only about a 7 hour drive. I mean, that would be worth it, right? Driving that amount of time for a burger like that? Not nonsensical.
Hmm. Maybe I could chronicle my trek for a YouTube video or something. You know, give it a title with that picture, "What would you do for one of these?"
I might have to give it some thought. That's one hell of a burger, let me tell you. Better yet, maybe I can talk to the Spangles folks and see if they will let me open a franchise here. I bet this place would be a hot seller.

@rakski Yeah, he'd have to buy two to make it worthwhile...

Please go ahead and get me one, and bring it down here, and I'll have a six pack waiting.

@porwest Don't forget we'll have to go see @moffittjc , so add an extra six hours there and back too. Maybe you should just fly.

There are just some foods that are worth the drive. Or, you could be like Elvis, and hop in your private jet and fly somewhere just to get that favorite sandwich or burger you’ve been craving. He was known to do that.

@porwest Yeah, that’s probably the place I was thinking about. He would hop in his plane and fly there just to get one of their sandwiches or whatever.

@moffittjc Yep. That's the place. I wish I could remember what it was called. When we lived in Milwaukee we went there a few times and it was always a good place for a sandwich. But we never partook of the one they made for Elvis that they still sell.
I guess I could look it up, but I'm being lazy at the moment. It's enough that I have been focusing my attentions in other places the past few days and am a bit behind on myLot.

There was a place in Milwaukee he used to go to often, that's still there by the way and has all sorts of memorabilia of his visits there. They would make him his favorite peanut butter and banana sandwich or whatever it was that he ate. lol

The image of the burger would attract me as well to buy a burger if there was a Spangles in Lake Charles.

Don't open a franchise. Food operations take too many of your spare hours. lol Why not make one at home? Have a good day.

Yummy! I had a cheeseburger for dinner tonight but mine wasn't as good as the picture of yours looks!
Does Spangles have French fries or onion rings that are as good as the burger in the picture

@LovesEverybody Some places just have good fries. I wonder if the place uses beef tallow? That's what McDonald's used to use decades ago, and ever since they switched to vegetable oil, their fries are just okay.

@porwest The fries you described make me feel starving! I think I would like both the Galic and Parmesan and Ranch.
There is a small local place my sister and I eat once and a while who have the best ever fries. We tried to find out what was different as they taste better than any restaurant in the area and we are told they are made like any other restaurant makes them. It can't be!

Yeah, why not! I mean, open up Spangles Burger business where you live. You will be successful! Abundant great returns, Jim!

Looks Fantastic. One of the burger places used to have burgers on sourdough, but haven't seen them lately. Always liked them, but with the Bacon and Parmasean cheese...YES! We are having burgers on the grill tomorrow, thinking about going and getting me some of that ready made bacon. Might even get some sourdough bread. Hmm will let you know. LOL
I would drive atleast 5 miles for a burger like that.
