Never saw that before

When I was headed home from Fredericksburg I saw what looked like a pickup truck that had pulled over a vehicle for some misdeed...likely speeding, but I have never seen a police vehicle that looked like a pickup. I mean it didn't have an open bed it was closed, but it was in a pick up style unlike the regular police vehicles there, that look like SUV's with the county information emblazoned on the side. The "pickup" was obviously meant to be a decoy vehicle as it was very atypical to a normal one. It had an honest to goodness police officer writing up the vehicle though.

Our city uses unusual looking vehicles to catch people guilty of distracted driving such as texting.

I was just looking on a site with police intercept vehicles. Some are pick ups, and some that are electric vehicles too

Maybe that is their way to catch those who do not follow the law

They are trying to fake them out.

@rakski Yes, easier to catch speeders if they were unaware the police are in the vicunuty.

That would have surprised me too. I’m not sure I’ve seen that before.

Yeah, it was odd looking and had blue lights in the back in a rectangular shape which was totally different from the usual arrangement.

@LadyDuck It was a first for me. Most of the ones from that county are the SUV type things. Here the police just have standard police issued cars.

@snowy22315 - I see the same brand of police cars here and never something like the one you described.

Maybe the police cars were getting worked on.

I think it was meant to fake drivers into thinking it was not a police vehicle.

I suppose at times it's helpful to have a vehicle that doesn't scream 'POLICE!!'

We have police in open back pick up trucks down here. You wouldn't know they were police except there are extra lightes in the grill and in the back window. They were chasing a dude one day. I was sitting at a light and there was a white and a silver truck with lights flashing after a mustang. We have Unmarked SUVs and Pickup trucks as well.
