Simply too much of a commitment

So, I got a call a little bit ago, about something I filled out on FB. It was online monitoring for Tai Chi classes to see if it improved your balance and memory over time. It was an hour class twice of week, which of course was free. If you participated in these for six months you got some kind of dollar reward at the end of the study, but whoever called didn't know how much it was. Maybe I should call back and ask how much it is..I mean if it was 1000 dollars it would be worth participating, but if it was something significant I am sure he would have said. It seems interesting..but that is a lot of time to devote to it. I would be more inclined to do it, if it was a half hour each class. What do you think about this?

Me personally, I would do it . . . because I already do take tai chi (an hour class once a week). I would take it just to take the class for free (is it beneficial to health - definitely!) . . . a cash reward at the end would be a plus. If you're into it, then it'd be an enjoyable commitment. I do like it, so I am biased . Honestly, I do know a few who did quit . . . they say it was too much for them - and 8 weeks was too much of a commitment.

I would like it more if it was a shorter class.

@snowy22315 Tai chi requires a bit of time (just our warm up alone is nearly a half hour). But I know - an hour, twice a week commitment is a lot for them to ask for.

I would do it if it was 3 months or if the classes were shorter.

That sounds like a big commitment, but a cool study. It wouldn’t hurt to call back and see how much it pays.

Yeah, I did he said one hundred to 120 not worth it. I have to be honest, I am not going to be devoting that much time to it,

Six months is a long time and, as you say, a real commitment. It would want to be worth it.

Just be careful that it's not a scam. Don't give out your Social Security Number or any other personal information. Have a good day

If you're feeling overly devoted to something that's optional and free, remember that it's okay to take a step back. If you have the time, it’s definitely worth it because you’ll gain valuable skills and rewards along the way. But if it's becoming too much, don't feel obligated to continue. Balance is key

My husband and I already do Tai Chi (one our per week) it is free and it is at walking distance from us. I would do it, it's very good for balance.
