Millions never got to see NYC when the Towers still stood. In fact millions were born years after this tragedy but lets never forget what was before that attack happened on September 11, 2001.
I thought some of you might want to see how NYC looked before that brutal attack:

Like FDR said about the Pearl Harbor attack. 9/11 is a day that will live in infamy. In many ways, the US is separated into before and after 9/11.

You're so right about that. I just wanted to see what NYC looked like before this attack just to get an idea of what it was like. I've only been in NYC once, I was 9 and because dad's tour was done in Germany he was relocated to Ft Bliss TX. That was 1959 but sadly I don't remember much.

I will never forget. I am a born and raised New Yorker and witnessed this horrific day. I have to agree with @snowy22315 that the US is separated into before and after 9/11. Although it's been many years it still feels like yesterday that it happened.

I remember that day, it was like so many other days, but seriously wrong.
I remember the days that followed, and the lack of seeing any airplanes in the skies.
I think that our world has changed drastically since that day.
Bless those who are mourning today.

My hometown I watched the towers go up in the 1970s and worked only blocks from there. I was already in Latvia when this happened and boy, was I shocked, In 1999 my husband and I had visited NYC and been up in the WTC,

@rebelann I never wanted to work in the skyscrapers, What I enjoyed was working in the much older buildings where you could still open a window to get air if you needed to,

I've seen it before and I see the after. I like the memorial and believe they did well with it. I can still remember that day. It was chaotic around the world. Never Forget.

@rebelann It was amazing to see. I watched a documentary last night on just the elevators, there was 189 active elevators in those buildings.

@rebelann When we go somewhere like downtown where there are tall buildings, we try to think how big the Twin Towers actually were . . . they must've been pretty huge.
It's cooled off . . . maybe high 70s - and that happened just after the triple digit days - too quickly. I think many of the plants/trees think it's autumn . . . the leaves are turning yellow. It will be bad if it gets too hot again - I wonder what it will do to farmed crops! Apparently it will be in the 90s by the weekend. But for now I'm wearing a hoodie!!! How is it there?

EP doesn't even have buildings as tall as some in LA so I can only judge by the image, it seems those towers made all other buildings look like dwarfs.
It's the normal seesaw season here. Last week it was in the high 90s, this week it's predicted to be in the low 90s, I just hope it doesn't flip back to the triplets
Yeah, if it gets down to the 70s here I'll be staying home bundled up.

I can remember the horror I felt when I turned my television on that morning.

It looked so different after that attack. It felt the same as if the Empire State Building or Statue of Liberty was destroyed. It was just as much a part of the heart and soul of NYC.

@rebelann Definitely a wakeup call (at that time) for the need for increased security in all vulnerable areas. We can now include our border.
