Say what?

I'm sitting here, listening to a YouTube and the phone rings. I pause the video and answer the phone. And this person says... something...? It is so fast it is just garbled. I listen faster than most Texans being a Yankee and all. However, this was just a garbled bunch of sounds that might've been words before they put it on fast forward. So, I say: "What?" And he slows down. "This is Steve (yeah, right, wonder what country he thinks he's from) and I'm calling from accident claims." He says each word slowly, like he's just learning to speak the language. "I haven't had an accident..." and I pause to try and think... "It doesn't have to be big, some hit your car?" "Nope." "A member of your family?" "Not that I know of." Mind you, both of my siblings have their own insurance stuff, I have no kids and never let my blind wife drive my car. "Okay, thank you for taking my call." Click. I really don't know what the first time he spoke was about. I don't think anyone can listen that fast. I probably should've just told him to take me off his list, but... yikes! Have you gotten a telemarketer like that? Good grief!

I got one trying to sell me insurance that I already have for free. And that noise is their recording softwear kicking in, because they record their calls.

No, it really was his voice. Now, maybe he had the first bit recorded and had it on fast forward, but it was his voice, just unintelligible...

@kaylachan I do know that, which is why I give about 10 seconds before I hang up. Because I really have nothing else to do but annoy spammers...

@ElicBxn Well, a lot of that is recorded, and they do that to ensure they have a live human.

It sounds very strange to me, That is why I am glad I have no mobile phone and odd emails wind up in my spam folder, However, today there was an email that said $750 dollars had been taken from PayPal for the order I put in. The problem with that is I use PayPal to get money and as soon as money comes in I transfer it to my bank so my balance there is always 0. I deleted that email,

Yeah, and I get those too. Oh, $2,560.00 has been taken from your account for the newest iMac (or some other thing.) If you didn't place this order, call 555-555-5555. Yeah... so you can get me to give you my bank account and take all the money out... If I do anything, I forward it to 'spam@ whoever.com'
