Death penalty is the highest punishment possible in criminal justice. It has been abolished in certain states in US and in certain countries.
Many support capital punishment to most heinous crimes such as murder, serving as a deterrent for other members of society and as a retribution for the victims or the near and dear ones of the victims. It serves as a closure for many in case of heinous crimes.
Opponents claim death penalty violates human rights. They state it starts a cycle of violence and poses more risks to society, especially when innocents are sentenced. Again, they argue it is basic right of humans – the right to live. There are some who argue crime rates do not go down even if there is capital punishment. Lengthy trials involved in such capital punishment cases burden the judiciary and taxpayer.
Time and again we have seen many trails and heinous crimes e.g. O.J Simpson trail, Saddam Hussain trail etc. So, is Capital punishment a fair legal practice or it contradicts human rights?

The family gets badly affected by this punishment and should therefore be abolished.

I have long been, and will long remain a strong proponent of capital punishment. You take a life, you have no right to live. Period. Granted, I am also for STRONG convictions with UNDENIABLE AND ABSOLUTE proof in cases where capital punishment is administered.

For proven , all serious crimes must have capital punishment. Judiciary should be strong and no one should let the criminal escape. Thanks for sharing!
