As you can see they didn't waste anytime exploring the new bigger area. They checked in and outside the milk crates. Did a lot of scratching in the wood chips. Are running from me like I am going to eat them. Some I might in a few months
Hubby had missed cleaning a spot is why the pellet burner wasn't working. But it is now, so that is good. Hopefully the next time it gets cold it will start right up. That guy was here for more than an hour going over everything. It has been all checked out.
I got the chicks old home cleaned up and stored. I can now get to my Halloween decorations when I want to. I will also go through all of my Christmas presents soon to make sure I have all of my shopping done. I think I do.
I hope you had a good day.

You might want to save one for Dale Watson next time he plays in central Ohio, just in case he wants to run a game of chickens#!t bingo at the concert….

Sometimes when I think of the younger generation, I imagine that they have not the least idea that the chicken they eat have a head. Some of the smaller kids might even think that the chicken come out in nuggets in some way. Once I wrote a story that mixed the story of Red Riding Hood with how my grandmother plucked a hen. She had different recipes than the one I cook now because hens were tougher then. She used a pressure cooker for her "picante de gallina".

She was eating the old hen that was done laying. The ones in the store are very young when they are butchered.

If you have started burning the pellets it shows winter has set in full on

@wolfgirl569 I think it's a good size for them now and it looks like a safe place.

@LadyDuck It should be very safe. I keep growling at the way I made the doors. But if I have trouble opening them things should have trouble getting in them

It's big enough for them to sleep in when they are full grown. Right now they could get out of the outside fence so they don't get the extra room
