Our planet will have a mini moon temporarily

This news is exciting and I hope I can get to see the mini moon before it dissappears. NASA says an asteroid will be captured by our planet's gravity between September 29 ad November 29 before the mini moon breaks away from the planet's gravity. Hope to see this as it unfolds.

You will need a telescope with a minimum 30 inch lens plus a CCD or CMOS detector to see the asteroid.

That is disappointing. I thought we would be able to see it as a smaller moon. My eyesight is not good so no point in buying a telescope. My hubby and I had a telescope and we watched the heavens some nights. We lost it when someone smashed our car and it got towed away. We forgot to take it out of the trunk.

I saw that story. If we can see this new asteroid moon, it will be extremely interesting. I know people will be taking photos and videos.

Yea, and some spiritual people will worship the moon.

@Adee44 It is an asteroid that will be captured temporarily in the moon's orbit. It is a natural phenomenon, not a god or goddess to be worshipped.
