Good afternoon! I finished another library book today. It is called "The Paradise Problem" by the writing team Christina Lauren. This may be a romantic comedy, but it is so much more. It deals with a dysfunctional extremely rich family who has a wedding for their daughter and her fiance on a private island. they spare no expense on how much they spend. The children of this family have to be married for five years to their spouse or they lose their inheritance. Liam, the bride's brother, five years before he married Anna in name only for housing. Liam offers Anna $100,000 to go to the island with him and act as his wife. Anna agrees because she needs the money desperately because her dad has been undergoing cancer treatment and she was wrongly fired from one of her two part-time jobs and has so many medical bills to pay. This book has Anna being disgusted by how she described the spending of Liam's family as grotesque when there are people who are underemployed and don't have good insurance that is if they have insurance and have serious illnesses this book examines poverty and the deep love which Anna has for her dad It is also about how one father, Ray, who treats his children like dirt could affect his children. This book was a super book that I gave 6 stars which means to me one of the best books of the year I read. Have you read The Paradise Problem? if you did, what did you think of it? Bonus question what are you reading now?

Some rich people in real life seem to waste so much money when they could do so much good with it if they wanted to.

I think that is the whole message of the book. The absurdly rich waste their money when they could do so much good with it. The way the rich family wasted their money was kind of pathetic. A lot of those insanely rich may have every luxury known to mankind but a lot of them don't have love in their life nor do they have happiness. I would rather have love any day.

@LovesEverybody You probably need a certain amount of money to be happy - enough for food and a roof over your hear but more money doesn't necessarily make you more happy.

@JudyEv that is exactly what I think. this book I decided was more than a romance-- it was a romance- but also a social commentary and a good one at that.

I did love it! it was insane but interesting the way some of the people who are billionaires many time over waste their money. I liked how it ended. it was more than a romance, it was a romance wrapped up in a social commentary book

I think you might like it. I didn't know if I would like it and I ended up giving it 6 stars. It has a lot of messages. The only problem is the bad language which is why I didn't give it a 6 1/2 stars which is my highest which means one of the best books i have ever read in my life.
