Dollar Tree has some adorable Fall dinnerware. It looks expensive and is beautiful. Even though I needed mugs like a hole in the head, I couldn't resist getting one. It is one of the nicest Fall mugs, I have ever seen, and it was only 1.25 to boot! It gives you an idea what the mark up is, at some department stores that sell the same type stuff. It was so nice, I almost wish I was having a dinner party or something so I would have an excuse to buy more of it. I might get a plate when I go back..I don't know that I can talk myself out of it.. I am a sucker for things like this. I bought a fall drying pad too. Do you buy adorable things, that you really shouldn't?

I changed my spending habits as I got older. I first bought just about anything when I went abroad. Then I decided that useful adorable things were better. I remember that we bought a mug with a picture of John Wayne in Universal Studios. My husband asked his coffee up to "John Wayne´s ear"

I know what you mean, I have boxes of adorable I am not using. Some of it is certainly going to have to find a new home.

@marguicha I always try to buy something that has some use, or is very unlike anything else I have.

I don´t usually buy extra things. But I discovered that I preferred to buy a cake once in a while instead of fruits to serve at dessert time.

I definitely would be tempted to get a mug (or two). I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff too

I have a faux Tiffany lamp shade, but it is small..not the big size. I use it on a small table lamp. It doesn't fit perfectly, but good enough.

@sallypup It's pretty nice. Sis once took a stained glass class. She made a stained glass bird for her future in laws and that kind of sealed the deal with hubby. The in laws loved the bird and hung it over their dining room table.

@snowy22315 I could go crazy with Tiffany stuff. The more stained glass, the better!

I am trying to downsize more, so I rarely buy any kitchen things--I am well supplied in that. I have a huge collection of FiestaWare dishes of varied colors, that were my grandmother's. I use them all the time, they are great. I have plenty of regular very nice glassware, and due to the fact I raised a big pack of kids, I have a huge amount of everyday flatware that all match (miracles happen!) and they are excellent quality, so they will never wear out. I do have some really huge pots for canning things and for freezer prep, and I have way, way too many mugs!
When I was a young bride, I decided fairly early that I would be ''different'' and collect coffee mugs from our vacations, unusual destinations, etc. They were not that popular then. I religiously collected one from every trip, etc. for years. When I moved the last time, I knew my time of reckoning had come and a LOT of the mugs just had to go. There were over 200 of them...and it was completely ridiculous. I ended up getting it down to 30. I kept some from different countries, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, etc. and different places in the US that brought back some wonderful memories. Of course, now I have some mugs with grandchildren's faces on them (I get 2 new ones every year! ) they are just adorable but then again...more mugs! The collection grows without me making a purchase of a mug, ever. Come on over--I will give you a mug! Or two, or...

No, thank you! I think I am mugged up for the time being..unless a few might break, and I simply must find replacements.. I could use some high quality ones..and get rid of the ones that don't match

Oh, I love that "needed like a hole in the head" idiom!
First time I hear it.
I started to declutter and get rid of things I don't need, so that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Yet I feel you, I'm not sure if there's such a thing as too many mugs. I need one for coffee, one for tea, one for water even. I can find as many excuses as you need.

No or only rarely. I saw a mug about this time last year, and bought it with one person in mind, then we had a gift exchange and it was the perfect thing for the person I drew.

I have given mugs as gifts before. My bro in law drinks out of it everyday. He even brings it on vacay with him.

Why do you use more than one during the day? I have to admit though, there Re times I do that too.

I think the dinnerware and glasses and mugs sold at the Dollar Tree are just as good as ones sold at bigger retailers. I have been gifted a couple of coffee mugs from there on a couple of occasions. They are the two that I use the most. The last thing I bought from there that I really didn't need was some dish towels.

It has been some time since I bought anything adorable or fancy. This is because of the debt challenges I have. I am working hard to reduce my current debt levels. So every money earned or saved is to meet the expenses and cut down the debts. I would like to be debt free at earliest . So that's my focus for now. I liked your choice of things. We should buy what we like in life and be happy. Thats what makes us happy and live. The mug seem to be fantastic and I agree at times we tend to think of excuses to buy what we desire. Well, enjoy your tea time with your mug. Enjoy the day.

That was another great game! The offense was outstanding. The defense needs some work, but by and large I was impressed! Sorry about Dallas Hun!

Not anymore. I buy mostly necessities. I am trying to downsize in case we should have to move into assisted living or something like that. Have a good day.

I should be worried about money, but I seem to always be able to squeeze it out for something I want to buy.
