Well I made it here with one minute to spare. I managed to get everything paid I needed to. (most of it) II also did everything for George I needed to. Right now he's enjoying the sun. I'm glad he's able to do that. He came in and used the bathroom and he's gotten a lot better about that. Recovery takes time. And, I know he's going to do his best. He hates the tube, but he's dealing with it. He's eating around 2 in the afternoon almost everyday. He's been eating his salads, too. He was so happy as soon as the therapist said he could safely eat what he wants.
It's a slow road, but we're getting there. George is motivated.

The one blessing about here is the 75,000 or so in Kentucky without electricity after the hurricane’s remnants aren’t dealing with 85-degree temperatures and heat indexes in the 90s. It’s 65 and raining lightly here.
I’m glad the sun is out and George is enjoying it. Is there a time table for the weaning process to get rid of the tube?
And can you believe it’s been almost a year? I know it probably seems like an eternity to you.

I have been thinking about that. November 1st will be exactly a year since I diled 911. I know hard, really. I mentioned it to him just the other day.
I don't know about a time table. First he needs to gain and keep the weight goal set for him. Second, he needs to pass the swollow study (which he has) and then we have to have an appoitment with the diatition to talk to us about starting the process. Once he goes a month with me just flushing the tube, then it can come out. Since it's a peg then it'll take intervential radiology or GI. I'll know more as soon as we get closer. It's basically up to George and how well he does.
He won't like it, but he'll need to eat more food then he's used to during the weening process in order to get rid of the tube. If he doesn't, then they'll recommend me use it more.
Well, flooding and power loss suck, but you're alive to complain about it. Are you with oor without power?

@kaylachan — thank God, I never lost power. Didn’t even flicker. My niece, who lives closer to Lexington, did lose power. They had wind gusts in the mid-60MPH range over there.

@FourWalls I am glad you're fine and didn't lose power. Sorry about your niece. I know a lot of you aren't used to long restore times.

He asked for hotdogs today. But I'll take it.

I'm glad George is eating more. Hopefully the tube can come out in the near future. Have a good day.
