Of all chief justices in India, past and present, Markandey Katju has a reputation of being extremely honest, fair, and logical man.
I have always said all politicos are garbage, everywhere.
And well, the retired judge didn't mince his words unlike me...he said he would have hanged them...LOL
There are still some naive people, who believe in one politico or the other.
The judge obviously saw more life, and has understood much more.
I mentioned somewhere, I want to hold an AK47 and dictate terms to whichever Prime Minister and cabinet, such that people realize the dishonesty of the person when he or she changes the laws.
Sad state of affairs.
No system is fool proof. Democracy included.
That said, there is no law written or unwritten that says don't change it internally.
Democracy can work, provided, we change it to ensure it works, and such changes become a norm as periodically, loopholes will be found to defeat the original purpose.

Paraphrasing Dr Ambedkar, the goodness or disadvantages of the constitution will depend on the people ruling the country! There's no political will and also no beauracrats' will to change the system working in India!

How are you doing Anya?
How do we get political will?
Take even example of Netanyahu. Does he really believe that it is possible to eliminate the Palestine? We have so much of media wherein his pursuits will be stated...he does have opposition from the kin of the kidnapped...but does he care...
The world developed a sympathetic attitude towards Jews following the holocaust. Now, that "goodwill" is lost completely.

Israel with the help of west id doing information warfare also. We are getting videos where they palestinians are giving birth to babies non-stop in even war-like situations! Its high time, they should settle in two nation theory and live cordially! What's the point of UN when they can't stop these wars and can't control over the nukes of N.Korea!!

@anya12adwi Force is never the answer....people think differently, hearing them out, understanding them compromising some is the way out...rather than harm both sides..

It's good to see you. You're right. Every government has its faults. We can only continue to make sure we vote for the good of the nation. Have a good week.

Someday, maybe, we will find a way around it to restrict the politicians. Protests may not work...they have learnt to ignore both protests as well as terrorism as a temporary events that will be out of minds of people. My net is giving me problems. I am barely able to comment once or twice...if I post, it takes ages to upload. My father is in denial mode. So I cannot get it rectified either. You too have a great week ahead Linda.

He, like I, believes that no politician is honest. All are greedy guys. The system generates such corruption, even when the initial intention is good, because people need campaign money, for which they have to accept money from people seeking favors, and such people may not be right folks...so politicos soon become corrupt, even if they did not want to be, added to this is tremendous amount of media coverage that opposition can drown them in, and countering all that requires money, so money is needed, and it can only be gotten in bad ways under the present system. That is the part which needs to be corrected to prevent corruption and cultivation of bad elements.
Anyway, former Chief Justice of India, felt that Indian politicians deliberately indulge in divisive politics ..divide people based on caste, religion, gender, region, etc., to capture votes. So that is the reason he wanted to hang them as it leads to riots etc., and which in turn to bloodshed.
