Crows are interesting birds. A group of them is called a 'murder'. There are a lot of superstitions and folklore regarding them. They love to hang out in cemeteries. Come to find out it is because there are large open areas and short grass where it is easy to find food. Crows and ravens both are known to eat human flesh. (Ooh, doesn't that make your skin crawl?)They are also known as harbingers of death because they tend to gather at scenes of death. Large flocks gather on the battlefields. They are just taking advantage of the food. They have good problem-solving skills and have been known to manufacture tools to help them acquire food items. They will eat almost anything including fruit, insects, eggs, and even human vomit. Crows are expert mimics and can imitate human speech even better than parrots. They can actually get the low tone of a man and the high tone of a woman. They have a fascination with humans and can remember faces. Photo is from wallup.net

I once saw LOTS of crows on the trees of a park in the south of my country. I was terrified although they did nothing.

Crows and ravens would gather at the battlefields in old times. But there's no reason to fear them if you're still alive!

I do too. I watched a mother crow trying to teach her young one to fly one time.

I was on a walk with my youngest son near the train station in town. There was a crow on the roof making some strange noises. I talk to crows all the time. I said, "You're making some strange noises up there." It looks down and clear as a bell says, "Hello". I was completely speechless.

They are certainly clever. My friend has a T shirt with a picture of two crows and the slogan 'attempted murder' - makes me smile!

@celticeagle Thank you for the kind words. Since October is known for Halloween, I decided to load an image of Lurch instead of former baseball player Reggie Jackson aka Mister October.

They sound like a very scary bird, especially since they eat human flesh. Yikes! Have a good day.

I would rather have them eat it than have it buried and decay away.
