You Didn't Even Read it, Knucklehead

It's one thing, when you take the time to write and share articles and blogs, that not everyone is going to read what you write of course. And there's no law saying just because you write something anyone has to read it anymore than a singer gets heard by everyone or a movie maker gets watched by everyone. And even those who do get read or heard or watched are not going to instantly gain automatic fans. But if one is going to criticize something, or even comment on something, shouldn't they at least have taken the time to have read, listened or watched? I think so. What say you?

Occasionally I might skim a long article but I always read at least most of it.

Skimming is one thing. You can still get the gist of things and pick out key points. But not reading at all and then commenting, or worse, criticizing the work is entirely another.

@JudyEv It is what it is. At the end of the day, I am not really butt hurt. Being a writer for as long as I have been, you get used to criticism. It's simply the principle of it.

I totally agree with you. Besides if I was going to leave a comment I would have not idea what to say if I did not know the content of the article,

Exactly. The discussion between him and I did continue beyond what I showed in the picture here, and amazingly he was making arguments I already made in the article. Several times I said, "You'd know that if you'd read it first." lol. It is what it is.

I think so. People should take time to read before joining an online community or engaging to comments. As for myLot, people mostly react on the questions that we leave at the end or at the start of our article... but personally I know if they read my whole article because sometimes they don't comment on the questions I leave at the bottom of my blog, but to some of the thoughts in my article.

Not reading the post can make you look foolish if your response is totally off base to what the article is saying.
