My last review was the first book in this 2-book series. I can't see the author bringing in more characters to continue this series. So here is book 2 (another 2 romance storylines). ~~~~ When single mom Joy Lee abandoned her old life to take a job at a lakeside resort, she found something that her family's wealth and influence could never buy: peace of mind. Not easy to come by for the once-burned divorcee who keeps everyone at a distance. But when her new friend, Maris, dares her to take a chance with the drive-in's charismatic new owner, everything changes for Joy and her young son. A difficult childhood has left Maris Kennedy with definite priorities. Her job running Summer's End, the camp store and cafe, comes first. Always. Nothing could ever make her risk that hard-won security - especially not her free-spirited colleague. But the more she encourages Joy to open herself up to new experiences, the more Maris begins to wonder what she, too, might be missing. Learning how to trust will bring Joy and Maris together. And soon they form a friendship that leaves them as close as sisters - and open to love where they least expect it... in Summer's End. ~~~~ Joy and Maris both work at Cooper's Charm Resort. They haven't really had much of a friendship until now. They are both encouraging each other towards relationships. Maris works the cafe, Summer's End, at the resort. Joy is in charge of activities for the campers. Their morning coffee meet-ups create a sisterhood between them. Daron doesn't live on the resort but has worked there for awhile and has always had his eyes on Maris. Maris has shown no interest in him, or any man. Ever. Royce is the new guy. He is fixing up and running a nearby drive-in movie theatre which is partially connected to the resort. Joy, a single mother, is showing him around. Her only interest is her son. Royce and Joy cannot deny their attraction to one another but neither is interested in a committed relationship. This story consists of unexpected love, unexpected friendship, past family dramas, and the development of family between all those connected with Cooper's Charm Resort. As the love relationships develop, so does the steam. A good read.

I'm about to read a non-fiction Too Close To The Falls about a young girl growing up very close to Niagara Falls. It's an old book and has been in the bookcase for ages so it's time I got to and read it.

That sounds good. I especially like stories that take place in settings close to home.

@patgalca I've just finished it and it was really enjoyable. I always get a bit excited if a book is set in an area I'm familiar with.

Thank you for sharing. Life really happens, but I hope everything will work for good very soon on that novel. I really love watching dramas and good novels, but I want a happy ending with a brave strong dependable male lead. lol! Many people got annoyed when they ask me why I am not watching a certain hit drama or a best selling novels, simply because I have high standards that i seldom see in the real world, so why do I need to burden myself watching/reading story with characters that I always see in real life. Lol!

I don't see any characters in books in real life. What I can't handle is fantasy. They are unrealistic and I cannot relate to them. They sometimes confuse me more than anything.

This book looks excellent! I will look for it at the library I am reading Relative Strangers by A.H. Kim. I am not too far into it, but I like it a lot. About a mother, her two daughters, and a granddaughter who lose their estate to somebody who says they are the deceased father's long-lost son and one of the daughters has a friend who says they can live in a cottage on the land where he has a retreat for cancer patients. So far, even though it deals with cancer, the book has not been too sad. Usually I am crying during books, but not yet in this book
