So, my cousin is getting married on Friday..and get this, she is marrying her live in boyfriend 's(who she has been with since they were teens),...Brother!! The ex is still living in the house, and since he hasn't had a job for many years, good luck finding a place. He can't be permitted to live in the house though,,,as how weird would that be?? Also, of all the people she could have chosen in life, why his brother?Ex might be entitled to palimony or something..but he needs to find some new digs, even if it is just taking care of an elderly person, or living with a relative or something. He needs to see a lawyer.

That does sound crazy, but it is expensive out there. With or without a job. Telling people to find a job is about pointless with how much things cost these days. Some people get along with their ex's even when break up, but that being said, homie should find new living quarters because third wheels are even hated by third wheels.

@snowy22315 Indeed, homie will be miserable even if honorable and its just not fair to her and his brother. You lost move on. Cold but true.

Maybe there are things she likes about both of them, similar personalities, etc. but the brother knows how to keep a job. That would make him the better choice, for sure. I guess you do not have to worry about the ex. Perhaps he can find another woman to mooch off of.

Maybe, but he is hardly a prime candidate.

My youngest daughter used to be a family judge and she said that many times she could not order restrictions from abuse because there was no place else the abusive one could go. Extreme poverty sometimes leads to abuse and bad situations. And not everyone is able to get a well paid job.

She has worked with the public for many years. You would think she could have found someone besides another member of that sketchy family. Although supposedly the one she is marrying is nice, employed and not a jerk like his brother.

Unfortunately, there is a minor child (teenager) still at home. I worry about her.

The job thing might be a bit much to hope for. His son might take him..but he doesn't have a stable living situation himself.

Sounds like a soap opera with way too much drama for me! Have a good day.

She must like her parents-in-law or something. That's weird indeed.
