Literal translation is My mum friend's son.
It is a romantic story about 2 childhood friends who reunite after some time. The female lead got back from the USA, we don't know why,it is later revealed, much later and the main lead loved her all this long but didn't tell her.
I think the series ended recently but i am on episode 12 out of 16. I like the main actors, the story, female's worrying parents, unusual side couple and seeing Korean food on their table, yummy.
The series has some dramatic or serious moments too. Like any korean drama or series, sometimes they laugh it off but sometimes, they stick to it. I was very touched when mental health and serious disease were mentioned and comforting words that were delivered by the male lead. I know we can't find that in our reality but since i had a fall out with my family again, i felt more love watching this series.
I recommend it. It's both typical and not typical Korean series and i rarely watch korean series cause they are mostly all the same but this hits different.
Any series that you would like to recommend, mylotters?

I am glad that you like it.
I am too lazy watching series in another language because I am lazy to read the subtitles.

I've not watched TV in a very long time. Another mylotter let me know a favorite series was playing again. It's a time travel one called continuum. But for some reason I can't get into it at present.
My husband watches a lot of Korean shows/series. I'll have to ask if he's seen this one.

I was not able to finish it, I don't know, I think the actors are too closed to each other that I can see that they can't give their best, and sometimes they can't cry... don't get me wrong, those actors are really good, but in that drama I can see how they try their best - but they are too happy to work with one another, that they can't deliver the right emotions to it.
But the story line is really good. I also love the latter love story of the male lead's parents.

3 episodes for me till the end and i can see your point. they are great but something is missing. you are so right; maybe i fell in love with the story more. yes, male lead's parents are complexed but later turned out to find happiness as well i'll finish the series just because i wanted to see how will things work out for side couple

I don't watch K-drama but I heard a little about Korean culture, where people often struggle with mental health stigma but it seems the situation has improved, and it sounds like this series might even help some more.

you are right. i also heard that about them ignoring mental health issues. sadly, they mentioned this only in 1,5 episodes and decided to focus more on a romantic genre but i remember i watched some series where mental health was mentioned a lot and i liked it. even on mtv, when i watch it, i can hear it, mental health is health too, some important issues.
