Do You Like Game Shows?

I love game shows especially trivia based ones. I feel it helps keep my mind sharp and sometimes I'm amazed at the things I know and equally amazed at the things I don't know. My new find is The Floor with Rob Lowe as the host. Season 2 just started and I was so happy when it was renewed after season 1. The premise is 100 contestants stand on a massive interactive LED game floor of squares and each square represents different trivia categories. The person on the square gets chosen at random and they get to choose an opponent who is in a nearby square to challenge. The winner gets to take over the opponents square and the loser leaves the game. The winner then has the option of choosing to continue to battle or go back to his/her square. The person who can capture the most squares (and the whole floor at the end of the season) has the opportunity to win $250,000. It's fast paced and exciting and if you enjoy trivia you would probably enjoy it. Have you seen it? What's your favorite game show?

@Marilynda1225 - I watched the Italian edition, they also had a special celebrity edition and they played for charity. In the past I already guessed all the answers twice.

Who Wants To Be a Millionaire is still on here but it's not an ongoing show. They had a special celebrity edition over the summer and they played for charity.

@Marilynda1225 Really??? Woah!! When and when?? Although I don't understand their songs as I am Indian, so I don't keep up much with their concerts and singing activities! But as far their relationship with each other is concerned and shown, I love it!

I've been enjoying the new season of 25 Words or Less too and we watch it every afternoon when my daughter takes her lunch break. I wish we lived closer and would have a ball playing your board game version!!

Game shows used to be fun to watch, like the Match game or even the Dating game, but I have only seen a few more recent game shows and they aren't fun.

Some are on Amazon Prime like Whats My Line & I've Got a Secret ...... I watched what they have on the first one and am not watching the latter, boy that Garry Moore smoked a lot but he had some really interesting guests that show inventions I didn't know anyone had actually formed & some I couldn't watch because back in 1962 animals weren't treated properly

I haven't watched it, nor do my kids seem interested in watching that game show. Sometimes, I'll watch Floor is Lava; the kids put on Wipe Out last night before dinner. I personally like Family Feud with its current host. He is really funny and the only one who actually really interacts with the contest on the show and makes jokes, which I find more interesting to watch, but also trying to guess what's going to be up on the board. I also like watching The Circle, which is on Netflix. They just had season 7 come out, and I've watched all the episodes already.

@Marilynda1225 Yes! I get a kick out of both and love the circle because it does seem unpredictable about who will be there at the end.

I have not seen The Floor. I do like game shows, especially quiz shows. One of my favourites is Richard Osman's House of Games. I enjoy the mixture of different games of knowledge and logic. I enjoy a good quiz at home as well. I sometimes surprise myself with the random general knowledge that stores itself in my brain - at the expense of keeping useful knowledge in there!

I have never heard of that one. I used to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune when I was young and had Nintendo games of them.

Yes, I watched season one. I either watched it when it was done filming or a week after each came out, I don't remember. The interesting part is that the people on each square picks what piece of trivia they feel they're an expert in. And even though they might be an expert they don't know how the show will put the clues together, so they don't always win.

This is such a coincidence. I have a page of notes to write a piece on game shows. I love The Floor. I like the trivia-based shows the best too. There are a lot of them. Have a good weekend.

My favourite shows used to be "Who wants to be a millionaire" and "Family feud" . I loved the trivia questions and well, I even used to play the online version of the games when it was released. The first few questions would be easy and then comes the big ones and it was good learning as well. Sometimes I do watch the online rerun of the shows and well It was fun and I am yet to see the show you have mentioned. Well, I would have a look at it , Good to know your interests. Enjoy the weekend!
