What's going on with the cabin??

Hey there folks hope all made it through the bad weather in Fla
& all is in a safe place to recover without any damage in your area.
Well folks I know it's been a while since I've let you know how the
cabin is coming along, it's been a challenge for sure it's been 1
thing after another BUT I think we finally figured it out for once.
We started with just doing what we THOUGHT would work but
that wasn't & didn't work out as well as we had thought it would
so we pulled it all up of what we had laid down & YES we learned
the hard way when you have a part of the cement floor that has a
raised area that the flooring just WASN'T going to lay out right.
So after we pulled what we laid down all up, we did something
different to make the floor more stable & lay down right & sturdy
we laid down 1 x 4's & Styrofoam down in b-tween the boards
& then sheets of plywood down over that & then put the floor
down & now it's laying down like it's suppose to in the 1st place.
After that we have been nailing down every other row of flooring
so it doesn't move or shift while walking on it & it's looking really
good & it feels a lot better to walk on, yes it sounds like a lot of work
but in the long run I'd rather do the long work than it messing up
after it's all laid down & have to redo it, when I can get back on
my desktop computer when my web cam is I'll make a short video
of how the floor & work we've done has came out, I know it's
been like 4-ever & I agree it has been a LONG road to get done.
I'm trying to get it done cause since I lost my Aussie that was in
the cabin with my pit bull he's so lost being out there by his self
he stays more outdoors than in the cabin, & that worries me.
But I'm trying to get it done as much as I can but it takes all I
got to him him motivated to get started once he stops it takes
4-ever to get things going again & well there's only so much
I can do to get things going & KEEP going once he starts.
I keep dropping hints to him to let him know what I feel &
that I NEED to get back out there as soon as I can B-4 I lose
my pit bull cause he has no 1 out there with him that he's
been use to & that right there can kill a dog cause of the
loneness which I think what happen to the last 1 I just lost.
So that's where we are with what's going on with the cabin
wish me luck on getting it done as soon as I can is all I can
ask for, thank you for being there for me on this long drawn
out task & wishing us luck with getting it done.

@2ndchances24 I am sure if you are waiting on God, it will take much longer. I asked him to start my truck once, and it didn't start. I had to have it towed to a mechanic to replace the starter. lol

@porwest I always wait for God, cause everything he
does is on HIS TIME not ours, & when you pray on
something he doesn't work on your time to do it.
I waited for a LONG TIME to have the trees cut
down, there wasn't a day that went by I didn't
pray to have them taken down, & 10 yrs later
after I got sick & 6 mons in the hosp & came
home it wasn't 3 mons later my prayers were
answered, You have to believe in faith if you
want Gods help in your life, that's how I live.
You don't have to believe what I say, but I
can tell you this, I have been blessed in a
lot to be where I am today & I believe in
what I have was the work of God himself.

yeah with as long as it has taken to get where we are with it
it SHOULD have been done already but that sure hasn't been
going so well, but maybe God will intervene & help get this done.

I wouldn't say unexpected we KNEW we were going to run into this
but he thought it wouldn't make a big deal till he got there & found out
the flooring wasn't going to go like he thought it would till he fixed it.

@LindaOHio Being he has went the way we SHOULD have went
in the beginning with the flooring he has really put some action
into getting it done now all we have to do is KEEP that action going.

It wont be the cabins fault if your other dog passes. It sounds like your dog needs to see a vet.

No, it's old age, their past 10 yrs old & being I was out of commission for
6 months & in the hospital & come back to recover another 6 mons
sure didn't help matters much when they were use to me taking
care of their needs & always around, & some other things too.

DYI projects can be very time consuming when unexpected things occur with your installation. I'm doing some this weekend and have my fingers crossed things go smoothly.
Hope things go smoothly for you too!

I think with the styrofoam your floor will be nicer to walk on and will be warmer as well.

that I do agree with which is why I wish he had of done this
in the 1st place where we wouldn't of had to start over again
we could have been almost done with it by now.
