An airline pilot with a heart of gold buys pizzas for passengers stranded in New Mexico

I like the attitude of a United Airlines pilot who showed a heart of compassion for about 150 passengers who were stranded at the airport in Albuquerque New Mexico on Friday September 13 when the airplane that traveled from San Francisco California destined for Houston Texas had to make an emergency stop due to a passenger getting ill.
Because the crew of the airplane went over the limit of their shifts for the day, a new crew would replace them from other flights which caused the passengers in New Mexico to resume their flight to Houston later that evening.
The airline pilot called a local pizza parlor and ordered 30 pizzas for the passengers since the airport restaurants were closing when the passengers got their vouchers around 7pm.
The flight did make it to Houston on Saturday morning safely. The passenger who fell ill was taken to a local hospital but what caused the sickness is not known.
The pilot is being praised for his kind act of generosity.

That's awesome. I was stuck in an airport for twelve hours once waiting for my great aunt and uncle. That was a long day.

I have heard the horror stories of sports stars who have been stranded in airports due to bad weather conditions.

Rare are such companies and pilots. Pilots are rarely known for kindness. In fact , if the global complaints are looked are most comes to pilots for being inconsiderate about passengers and not doing their duty diligently. Well, here we have an exception. Need to appreciate the pilot and company for taking care of the passengers. Perhaps , this needs to be circulated to all other air companies across the globe and use as the gold standard for quality care benchmarks for passengers. As usual , great incident to be shared!

I am in agreement with that the airlines get more bad publicity for the actions of a few bad employees than the good employees doing good deeds.

It was very thoughtful of the pilot to buy pizzas for the passengers. He didn't have to do it, but he followed his heart, and generosity always pays off, at least on a spiritual level.

I am in agreement with you that the pilot did his act of kindness out of compassion and not trying to gain favor.

That would certainly go down well with the passengers who might have had a bad taste in their mouths about being delayed, otherwise.

It was a good feeling that the passengers were fed during their time of need.

I have heard the stories of passengers being stranded in airport can be stressful. The pilot giving pizzas to the passengers eased their stress.
