I can pretend

I can pretend that I have some zip if that cliched rubber meets the road shows up. Friend said she'd go with me to the pool this morning. She cancelled- there sure is a pattern here. Hmmmm. I grabbed my swim top and shorts and drove to the pool by myself. The pool folks are still having trouble. So yay!!! 92 hot tub degree water. I loved it. 40 minutes of working out in that hot water. Home to heat up a cheese pizza. Took hubby to another church meeting. Called friend. If she can bail I can hassle her on the phone- I barely know the woman but I figured it was fair. Surprise. She agreed to come to my house. We live so close its a three minute drive. So she did and wowwhee. We walked with the pups down the street and over to a neighborhood park. We sat on a bench looking over a lake and listened to the freeway traffic across the way and talked. Sweet to just chat while the dogs sniffed the bushes and didn't fall down the incline to the lake. That is the longest walk near my house that I have engaged in maybe years. Plus my pool exercise. Chatting is a great distraction. Cold cheese pizza and cauliflower supper. Sorry hubby. He also found a pop tart. I owe him big time.

I’m starting to understand why people get in hot tubs. I get hot easily, and normally have to run my air conditioning in 90 degree weather. But my arthritis is bothering me so much I’m letting myself sweat with no remorse. A hot tub sounds very handy right now. The physical therapy helped you an awful lot, it sounds like. I’m glad to hear that. Hopefully, your new friend won’t have to keep canceling or rescheduling.

@AmbiePam I think you're right about the physical therapy. I'm sorry you are dealing with arthritis. I have that in every joint. I sure wish you didn't. I hope you are able to do some gentle stretches so that you don't freeze up.

@sallypup My acupuncturist/cupping/massage therapist showed me some really helpful stretches. Besides pain medicine, I also load up on turmeric because of it being an anti inflammatory spice. You’re a tough lady. I just have arthritis in my spine and hands. I can’t imagine having it in every joint.

@AmbiePam An arthritic spine is not hilarious. There is no just in it. I'm sorry. Good idea about turmeric.

how fun that your friend ended up coming over after all, and you got to enjoy a long walk and good conversation by the lake. Sometimes, an unplanned day can lead to some of the best moments.

I hope your friend doesn't regularly stand you up. That would be a real shame when it seems you enjoy your time together when it happens.
