Good Sunny Morning.

Clean up efforts are underway. Neighbors around us started to assess damage to their home. My one neighbor, directly across from me, is still without power from what I can tell. George is sitting out front. I gave him his medicine, and he was talking to those who were working on their yards. One of whom cleared the carpet of leaves in front of driveway. You would never know, looking around, a hurricane hit. However, looking at store closures and lack of services It's heartbreakingly obvious.

Yeah, we have solar power and it's running the house right now. We have a clear sunny day so it's able to produce power effectivly.

@anya12adwi 8-10, give or take how much daylight we get. but the battery can give an addational 10 plus hours if I don't use things like the dish washer, washer dryer or A.C.

That is a bummer. I hope they are not going to lose products in the stores.

No, stores are open for in-person shopping right now, but no delivery service. Having things shipped is still an option, but they can't guarentee a delivery date.

We can clean, we can recover. We can replace products. We can't replace lives.

The important thing is that you and George are OK. So far, from the members I've heard from, everyone is OK. Have a good weekend.

We're doing fine, thanks. Yes. the East coast was spared compared to the west, but the storm did as expected. It dropped quickly from a cat 3 to a cat 1 almost as soon as it hit land. It was a cat one by the time it exited the state, but that means on the weaker side winds drop quickly. So we never saw those cat 1 windspeeds.

The only important thing is that you are okay. Clean up little by little. As I tire easily, I know that the only places that have to be clean are the bathroom and the kitchen.

Yeah. I'll eventually mop that floor, but that's on the low priority list. I make sure George and I have clean clothes and clean dishes to eat off of.

When our area was still prone to storms and thypoon we always experience one week of no electricity because no one can really fix the electricity line due to the heavy rain and the strong wind. But now, everything is turn upside down, I am relief that we are not affected by it after experiencing it for almost 40 years of my life, but I am not happy for those who was now experiencing the same experienced we had before: flood inside our house, we have to evacuate the house and live to a kind relatives, and sometimes we don't really have food because we can't buy outside. it is not really a great experience, that I hope everyone will not encounter it in the future.

I can honestly understand how you feel. George and I have been lucky to have survived as we have, but we also know the other side, too. I'm waiting for local stores to reopen for delivery, because George can't drive us to stores. He can, sort of, but we're awaiting permission fro his doctors.

I heard from a friend in Melbourne, Florida yesterday. They fared well through the storm, too. I’m very thankful you don’t have much cleanup to do. George doesn’t need to be out there trying (and I know he would).

Yeah, he would. But, only if he felt confident. Which he doesn't right now.

Glad the sun is back already, I hope the days ahead are going to be nice so everything can be cleaned up and that damage is not too severe. Sadly there's some couldn't be avoided, I guess.
