Noodles Of Glass

Once I had beans and it was a gas, then I tried some noodles of glass. Seemed like the real thing, only to find they were too made of the gassy kind. That's the song that popped into my head when I saw the title. I could have written "glass noodles" but I'm following the 3 words rule for titles. And no, the noodles didn't give me gas. Do you like glass noodles? Do you think they're healthy? Do you even call them "glass noodles"? I'm more of a mung bean noodles girl. Glass sounds too crunchy for my taste. Anyway, of course I like them. I got them spicy and they were indeed spicy, what a surprise! I don't mind spicy but my throat did. I forgot spicy and sore throat don't mix well, but it was fine. I still enjoyed the meal. And that's all, I hope you like my attempt at "abstract" photography.

@somewitch Yes, that's the one! It doesn't make me bloated so far. But I do not like too oily. I actually just cooked one last Friday night

@rakski You call them "sotanghon", right? I thought the name @luisadannointed gave me was a specific recipe but eventually realized it might be the name of the noodles themselves. Do they make you bloated if you have too much?

@somewitch Thank God you said it was a song! Otherwise we would all be talking about gas!

@anya12adwi Luckily it wasn't my experience. "Noodles Of Glass" reminded me of "Heart Of Glass" by Blondie and I was flabbergasted the first phrase had gas in it. Thought it was perfect for bean noodles.

I'm not sure if I've had glass noodles. I don't think I'd like to eat anything actually made of glass. I do love noodles of various kinds. We often have ordinary egg noodles or sometimes upon noodles. I'm not a fan of Pot Noodles but any other noodle is good noodle.

@pumpkinjam Cellophane noodles don't hurt as much but I wouldn't eat cellophane either. Pot Noodles like the instant kind? Not a fan of those either, although there was an instant one in particular I enjoyed but it was not potted. The sauce was simply delish.

@AmbiePam I've been getting them more often because I'm trying to eat more protein and less carb, but I don't think it's making a huge difference.

@snowy22315 Chinese restaurants/takeaways. Other Asian cuisines are way less popular so it's usually Chinese.

@dya80dya They are Chinese and usually served in Chinese restaurants. I hope you can try them someday. I think they're very easy to the tummy but I can't tell for sure. After all, they are made with beans.

@allknowing Any type of noodle? They can be a little tricky to eat because of their length. Do you prefer rice or short-cut pasta?

@RebeccasFarm Thank you! They're flavorless and the texture is probably the same as rice noodles. Soy sauce is what gives some flavor, hence the darker color, otherwise they'd really look like glass.

@wolfgirl569 Thank you! I'm okay with the result, I couldn't waste too much time trying to get a good shot or the noodles would get cold.
