Have your ever worked with watercolor?

Several of us attended a mindfulness watercolor even last night that was free it your could donate five dollars. All the supplies were provided. Two ladies ran it, neither were teachers. The one that explained had several pictures she's done showcased which we could use to make something similar. My sister, T, and I were the only ones of our group of four who painted. The the other two watched. T, has done some watercolor painting in the past but not during the last year. I only did it once back in 1970. The pic on the lower right is one that the speaker made. My rendition of that one is the upper left pic. I tried to put them together but my app has other ideas. We forgot to get a pic of the other with more colors. So, two of those are mine. My sister did very well with hers. Maybe I'll take pics of hers next time. They'll be doing them monthly.

It was better than I expected. I'll be looking forward to next month even though my hands shake making it harder to get the effects I'm shooting for. When I was in school I took an art class and liked certain mediums. But I can't really draw unless it's still art, meaning things like a bowl of fruit. The books I'm designing are about the closest things to art that I've done in a long time and a lot of that is AI generated. I just have to come up with the ideas.

@MarshaMusselman It's still nice to play around with ideas though and see what comes up, isn't it?

@MarshaMusselman Recently, I tried my hands with painting but I did good with sketch pen but not with water colours.

I used to as a kid, but I'm not real artsy.

I'm about the same. It's been many years that I've tried anything like that and my lines are crooked because my hands shake. But I found out if I blot the colors some it minimizes the crooked edges.

I did when I was a kid. Didn't do okay with it though. I liked oils better.

I've not experienced working with oils. My favorite was batiking although it's a lot of work.

That's cool. Did your have books to get ideas from or a good imagination?

I always wanted to learn to paint scenery. Maybe I still will one day.

They're not technically a class, she's just sharing what she's done. She does it to settle down so her day isn't crazy.

I might do more with it but try to stay away from trees and things that need a steady hand.

@MarshaMusselman i'm similar. i can do some things, others also but not in a perfect way but that doesn't mean we're less artists

It's been over one year since I worked with watercolors, it was at art therapy. It was great to be able to perform such activity with no pressure or expectations, just going with the flow and accepting whatever the outcome was. Your attempt at watercolors came out pretty good though, and I think it was worth the $5 overall.

Plus I didn't have to pay. My sister paid for our group.
