I enjoy creating poetry and was surprised one time long ago to discover a video online where someone on YouTube had put one of my poems to music, I had never thought about doing anything like that,

Years ago I thought about being a songwriter in Nashville, might still do it someday,who knows.
Not to be narcissistic, but anything I write would likely be better than most of what passes for country music these days. Lol, sorry for the tangent.
I've lost count of how many poems I've written over thirty years, but getting to put some to music was a blast.
It's awesome that someone put your poem to music,that they thought enough of it to do that is high praise/a great compliment I think. @RasmaSandra

I can play a few traditional instruments, but I also experiment with virtual instruments and such.
I used to find a lot of virtual or synth instrumentation annoying,(thanks to 80's and 90's pop and rap) but it kind of grew on me I guess.
@porwest
(The instrumentation potentials, the genres not so much lol.)

@jnrdutton Synth stuff can have its place, but I do find it's better when it fits rather than serves as a replacement to something else.
