Does anyone else have this chronic illness on mylot as well? I’m at home with the flu and feel like I’ve been hit by a semi-truck. Help me if you do as well, how do you manage during sick days?

I don't have EDS, but I do have a small list of chronic conditions. I take each day one at a time. I learned not to beat myself up for resting. If something doesn't get done, there's always later. There's always tomorrow. I just reminded another member in a previous post, to pace yourself. No crime in taking your time.

@Jadielove First thing to remember, is you can only control yourself. Never others. If a person can't be supportive during your bad times, then they aren't worth the effort. But you also have to remember that often times an illness affects more than the one suffering the affliction. As long as you put yourself first, you'll be fine. Reguardless of what others say. I have Cerbal Palsy as a result of a Traumatic brain injury at age three months. I also have optical athrophy, which also means I'm blind. I also have some a-typical symptoms that come with a TBI.

I’ve learned to be patient with myself but others have not learned that for me yet. It’s a pretty serious illness and patience is a virtue but unfortunately this world doesn’t seem to have much these days. My creatinine is low which means my muscles are literally deteriorating it’s pretty debilitating. What are your conditions?

@Jadielove I'm glad that she's alright. And, that she'll live.

Wow, that is serious disease, and I am sorry you have it. I have dealt with chronic illness for a couple of decades now, but I never get used to it. It makes me admire my late mother because she was way sicker than me, and her good attitude never wavered. I wish I could have inherited her natural positivity!

Thank you so much *watery eyes* it was a relief getting diagnosed with it but will just completely continue to slowly deteriorate my body over time. What illness do you have?

@Jadielove Nothing as serious as you. I have fibromyalgia, but what affects me the most is the car accident I had at 18. It did damage to my spine, and sometimes just moving is miserable. I don’t remember life without pain, which you must understand. I’ll be praying for you.

@AmbiePam thank you so much …I don’t think you understand how much this means to me…I couldn’t imagine a car crash so serious, that’s horrible..and pray for your healing as well. My mom was misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia and my doctor tried diagnosing me with it but the medication for it was awful…so she said “I don’t know what’s wrong with you” and from there we kept researching and I stumbled upon EDS, now I’m on muscle relaxers and maybe will soon be prescribed something stronger for pain. Now I wonder if I could ever have a “safe” pregnancy and live a normal life. It gets kind of sad and lonely. Pain has been since childhood, serious pain too.

I'm sorry you have this. Whatever it is you are experiencing, I'm pretty sure you will make it. Just put yourself first and do what you need to do for yourself

I lie in bed and eat chicken soup. I have never heard of that disease.

You wouldn’t be the first to tell me that LOL, most doctors aren’t educated on that either.

Never even heard of it, but it sounds miserable, so I am glad I don't suffer it.
