myLot does not mind

There are a few users here who think they can learn English at myLot.. My advice is this is not the place. since myLot does not mind users just posting without bothering to see if their gramamar is fine or their spelling is right. There is an edit option if they later come to know of typos but they will not bother because myLot does not mind. How particular are you to see that your posts are perfect when it comes to correct grammar and spelling? myLot does not mind particularly because there are a few users here where their first language is not English but even those whose English is their first language take advantage of this

I give some liberties to those who I am pretty sure English is not their native tongue. Even if it is not a site suited to learning and education, wherever possible I will try to "enlighten" someone.

@porwest Here at myLot we are not supposed to correct or point out mistakes.

What liberties are you talking about? . It is myLot that accepts wrong spelling and poor grammar and that applies to even those whose native language is English and they are taking full advantage of that You should see sosme howlers (lol)

@allknowing By giving some liberties, I simply mean to say, if I am aware someone's native tongue is not English, I'm not going to beat them up over simple mistakes.

My grammar is mostly proper with the exception of the times I end my sentences with a preposition. I’m aware it is improper, but I cannot bring myself to care. Now, my punctuation when it comes to needing a colon or semicolon is often incorrect, and I may not be aware of it. However, I believe my spelling is on point as I double check my posts before I hit submit.

My browser underlies the misspelled words, I think that most people could have the same feature. Of course what concerns the grammar is another matter.

Even for correcting grammar there is a software.

@allknowing I use an online software to check grammar, it is free and it takes no time to check before posting. I do not use it for comments, but if I notice an error, I edit.

I do edit my posts and comments if I see I misspelled a word or forgot a word.

Sometimes I have to edit my posts because I use the wrong words on the headlines on my posts.

I do that too. Somehow I miss seeing them when I first post them

I check spelling a lot. But many times my clumbsy fingers ruin everything anyway. I try to do my best although English is not my native tongue and I´m much better at reading than at writing.

At the first attempt I think all is well but when I look at it a second time I notice there are typos. I use the edit option and set them right.

I have been particular to get the spelling and grammar right. Unfortunately both are not supported at mylot. There are few times, I have edited my own responses, seeing few spelling and grammar mistakes. There are some whose first language is not English , but they do write well in English ( from whatever I have seen so far). The benefit of mylot is not in improving vocabulary or writing better (both are theoretically possible in mylot) , but is in increase in typing speed. Typing speed could increase well , if you are consistent in mylot and well good to know your thoughts. Enjoy the day!

I am famous for making typing errors that has nothing to do with spelling or grammar but I seem to overlook for reasons unknown but when I get back to comment on responses I see those howlers and quickly edit them. I have a good typing speed as I started my career as a principal secretary

Clearly, myLot is not a school. But I think it's a good way to practice and learn some vocabulary along the way. Lately I've been asking AI if my phrases are correct, but I don't do it often because I'm quite "confident" with my skills at this point. Yet, as always, there is always room for improvement.

It is better to depend on resources outside of myLot that guide you.
