I heard my (dead) mom’s voice.

After my doctor’s appointment this morning, I headed over to my dad’s house. A little while later, he hits something on his phone, and I hear a voice that sounds familiar, but it was the words she said that had me lifting my head. He asked if I recognized the voice in the clip, and I asked if it was my mom. He confirmed it, and said a former member of our old church (from about 30 years ago) had sent him a snippet of her talking. She always sounded a bit different in real life than when recorded. But then you could say that about a lot of people.
I had to fight not to cry, but it didn’t make me sad. It was such a beautiful day outside that I think hearing her voice was just the cherry on top.

I am glad you could hear her voice, I know that was special for you. You can imagine how I feel when I put on my home movies and hear my husband's voice and see him,

I have some videos that I can watch and listen to my parents voices and other relatives that have passed. I have to be in the right mood, but it is very nice to see and hear them.

I've saved messages on the recording to hear over and over again. So I understand too.

You could perhaps ask your father to share it on your phone and you can hear it as often as you wish to

What a marvelous gift for you! I know it made you miss her terribly, but close to her, also. I'm so glad for you.

My younger sister expired on 10 the of January 2020.One or two months later I heard her voice when I came out for a walk after dinner."Have you had your meal;brother??" It was the voice of my sister coming from nowhere. And spontaneously I replied;"Yes;sis."And immediately I came to my senses.I was amazed.I looked around. There was no one.I came back to my home and cried inconsolably.

I so much want to comment and voice my feelings. But I'd have to fight not to cry, just like you. It's just enough for me for the moment.

That's a beautiful thing! Hearing your mom's voice! I wish I could also hear my mother's voice but I think no one recorded her when she was alive.

You are so lucky that your mother's voice was recorded so that you can hear it.
