Holiday Decorations (and what a skeleton)

This house and yard is much larger than just the section I highlight in the picture, but I wanted to get a closeup of the huge skeleton these people had in their yard. The entire thing was decorated for Halloween (this house is about two miles from my dad’s). I was wondering if any of you have seen many Halloween decorations out. I decorate for fall, Christmas, and Easter, but not for Halloween. The skeleton seemed huge for a regular person’s house.

Around here, not often. Christmas seems to be more normal for most folks. George and I kind of decorate for all three but maybe not this year because he's recovering from his stroke and getting him to do normal things continues to be quite the challenge.

I haven't seen any but we were dealing with a major hurricane. I'm not too fond of Halloween anyway.

Some yes, seems like not as many as usual. Cute decorations. I have a couple of things outside.

I’m not seeing near as many decorations as I used to.

Wonder if that skeleton is real and if so where did they get it from!

I haven’t seen any here, but I saw some Halloween decorations when we were in West Virginia recently.

I imagine if any Mylotter’s house would look cool for Halloween it would be yours. You just bring whimsy to things.

@AmbiePam You're a joy. Mr. plastic Jack O Lantern presides over my front porch per usual. I refuse to bring in anything gruesome- for obvious reasons those fake cat and dog skeletons are not allowed on my property.

There used to be a corner house in the neighborhood that had 2 of these tall skeletons in their front yard - but they were up all year - hilariously in various costumes. We were so bummed when one day they were gone and a for sale sign went up. This year I'm seeing more houses decorated for Halloween. I used to go all out for Halloween decorating outdoors . . . but now we're just keeping it simple for indoors.

Aw, that would have disappointed me too. It reminds me of a house in my parent’s neighborhood that looked like a fairytale cottage, from the structure to the colors, to the front garden design. It was beautiful. One day everything was either different or gone. Turns out the man got divorced.

@AmbiePam Oh how sad! When you see major things like that happening to the outside of a house, you just know something must be up with the occupants.

I have, but in my apartment complex they're not huge. I got two small pumpkins at the Food bank, but they're out on my patio wall for "Fall" not Halloween, which I don't decorate for either.

That is one huge skelton, I wonder how many pieces it breaks down to for storage. I decorate for autumn, but not Halloween in particular.

The entire yard was littered with Halloween decorations, and it must be a sight at night. They go all out for Christmas too, if I remember.

@AmbiePam Our son's neighbourhood, like so many of the new ones, is zero lot, which means that the house takes up the majority of their lot. There is very little space between them and the houses on either side. Decorating is tricky, just their front porch and a small tree in their front yard, or they can decorate, and they do, their backyard, for their own enjoyment to look out the back windows.

I can think of a couple of places where there is a lot of Halloween decor, but my mind keeps saying "what a waste of time and energy" to buy all these inflatables and let the Kansas wind do its worst.

I think I remember something about these skeletons. I think there is a 12-foot skeleton club or something. Am I dreaming that part?

The people down the street used to have one of those skeletons. They kept it up all year around. Haven't seen too many Halloween decorations. Have a good day.
