We ordered meds a week ago

I noticed Bob was running low on a med, so I ordered it about a week ago, along with a foot powder. These are ordered through the VA.
I went to check on the status and they were just dispensed yesterday. So figure at least a two day turnaround in the mail.
We have an appointment at the VA today for Bob, so while there we can see if they have been sent out or not. If not, maybe we can pick them up.
He will also ask about a flu shot.
That is what I am doing today.

You would think that meds would get priority mailing

Since it is a regional pharmacy, I am not surprised. That is why I do not normally get his meds there, but the medicine that three of his doctors wanted him to take would cost no less than $450 per month at our regular pharmacy. VA provides it for $11per month. When I called before we went to Wichita, the pharmacy said they were already in the mail but come in and pick up some to tide him over. So they sent us home with two weeks worth. It was not a problem since we already were there.

@Marilynda1225 I think that the fact that it is a regional med center and many people get their prescriptions there it is not unusual to take longer. I will order two weeks in advance next time. Also a Federal Holiday factored into this.

My doctor says I do not really have any risk factors for it, and it has some side effects that occur frequently that would play right into my fibro situation. On the other hand, with Vince having had lung surgery it is probably very good you get vaccinated and him as well.

@GardenGerty I think he will need to wait till he is stronger. He's going to ask his doctor.

You have to have a prescription and it is sent to a specific pharmacy. Also, at our closer pharmacy this costs about $450 per month, more than we have. Through the Veteran's Hospital it is $11 per month.

It went very well. This doctor has been working with him on an issue for several years and we are beginning to see a turn around.

A week seems like a long time for meds depending on where they are coming from.

Well there was a weekend, and a Federal holiday in that. They gave us some extras to take care of him until it arrives.

Hope you can just pick up the meds at the VA today and not have to wait for delivery.

Are your still working it have you retired? I tried from my cashiering job with a small pension last Dec. I've still been washing windows in the warmer weather, but I'm training my sil to take over one day.

The longest we ever have to wait is 2 days. I hope Bob gets his med ASAP. Have a good day.
