Bhetki fish is one of the river fishes. Bengalies create curry of the fish with potatoes and eat them with rice.Sometimes the sellers of the fish in the market take away the bones and create fillet. The fillet can be fried into a dish called fish fry. Also there is a dish where the bhetki fish is cooked with spices and wrapped in banana leaves and offered as paturi.

I have tried the dish that you talked about where bhetki is wrapped in banana leaf. It was so yummy. I ate it in my friend's house. We don't bring bhetki. My husband will only get rohu or katla.

Ohh those are good fishes too. Just some variation in the way to be cooked will make it delicious.

Oh I just had Bhetki fish curry today. Sometimes you have to be careful. They sell Bhola instead of Bhetki. Both taste similar
