MRI Over and Done With

The MRI only took fifteen minutes, and I got to listen to some pretty bad music while I was at it. I remember in my twenties, they did MRIs from my head to toes, and it took two hours. I ended up falling asleep that time. It’s still early in the day, and so beautiful! Anyone been stuck listening to bad music lately? What are all of you up to?

@snowy22315 Thanks. : ) They think my back has gone from moderate damage to severe, but I’m not too worried.

Hold music while trying to schedule our IRS appointment was pretty bad, and I am about to do some slice the pie reviews. Generally that music is pretty bad.

I have been; however, I used the money I saved by switching my insurance (not to GEICO) and the myLot money to get some AirPods Pro, which have noise cancelation in them. I’m amazed how well they work. So play that cheesy 90s music, Chuy’s, I’ll stick the AirPods in.

Good to know it took you only 15minutes compared to two hours stuck with bad music

Oh, goodness, any longer with that music would have been torture.

@rakski The other options of music they gave me were worse than what I ended up with.

@AmbiePam that's true! Can't you request a good music, something of your liking?

Was the MRI machine an open machine, or a closed-in one? The first time I ever had an MRI it was the close-in one and I felt so claustrophobic in there. But the second time they used an open MRI machine and it was super comfortable and roomy.

@AmbiePam How far in did you have to go? My daughter just did an MRI on her forearm, and she had a closed MRI machine, but thankfully she only had to stick her arm in the machine, and not her entire body.

What was the MRI for? I hope it turns out well. I'm plodding through dozens of email changes. Have a good weekend.

They just want to see if the damage to my back is worse. According to the X-ray they make you have before the MRI it has gone to severe now, but I don’t feel worse at all. And that’s the most important thing.

They did 70s country music. I like country music, but this was country music that sounded like it came from a discount bin.

I'd definitely rather the 15 minutes than 2 hours - glad it went pretty fast but yah, it must've been 15 minutes of torture for your ears . When I was driving the other day in traffic, there was this truck next to me .. . his boom boom boom boom was booming so loud - I could feel my own car vibrating. I had to endure it down a long stretch of street .

Listening to bad music could be torture especially stuck in an MRI. At least it only took 15 minutes.

I tell you, when she said country music, I did not think trash from the 1970s. It was like a bargain bin CD set. Lol

I wouldn't have the patience to stay there. I think I am claustrophobic too. Being stuck in a closed space causes panic attacks.

I close my eyes, and it doesn’t bother me, but they do have open MRIs. Sometimes they don’t have to put you in the tunnel.

To drown out the loudness of the MRI machine they give you headphones to wear during the test, and pipe in music for you.
