Silly Double Standards

Have you ever known anyone that just entertained some of the most insane double standards? Something is bad for others but okay for them?
Recently a friend of mine was coming down to visit me for my birthday. The guy I was dating at the time wanted to hook her up with one of his friends and wanted to know what she looked like. I gave a vague description (I was busy planning my party lol) and he asked if she was black. I said no and asked why he asked and he told me that his friend "didn't date black women". I blinked and privatly wondered if his friend would have an issue with us dating since he was white but I didn't say a word.
A week or so later he brought it up again (his friend meeting mine)and I told him that I didn't think it would work because when I mentioned the whole hook up thing to her (minus what he said about his friends preference) she told me she prefered to not date white guys. I then went to him and told him she wasn't interested. He asked 'why' and I told him and when I told him you would think that she was the devil and I was her shepperd because he went OFF on me about how didn't like racist people blah blah blah..
Now usually I would respect what he had to say and not even be talking about this now but I was BAFFLED because he obviously thought nothing was wrong with his frind not wanting to date someone based on their race BUT he had a problem with someone not wanting to date HIS friend because of HIS race.
What the heck?

I know a lot of people like who have a double standard for everything. I guess that we tend to ignore it or respect it because its our friend, but when we see it in others it pisses us off because we know its wrong in a way.
