Cutting in line but cashier won't do a thing

I went to my local store to buy only 3 things an hour ago. This store has many challenges and only one cashier was working. Not sure why the second wasn't but i hoped the line would be moving.
Then, on the right, appeared a young lady that didn't join the line but stood there. I was behind a lady that was standing there before and was looking when the lady on the right will start moving and what the lady in front of me will say. This younger lady could have gone behind us but why not, we need to ask her. All in all, behind that young lady, appeared 2 middle aged men with security jackets and finally (it is usually me saying something), a man behind me said they are cutting the line.
Imagine this, one of them was angry and said why are you yelling and mind your business. So, 3 customers cut the line but cashier didn't say a thing, just like a lady/woman in front of me. These men also had some shame to ask for a packet of cigarettes, an additional thing that cashier needs to find elsewhere and were taking their time endlessly.
I don't think i will visit this store in the future cause, i don't like this kind of practice and cashier not doing anything. Are we in a jungle then.
I do wish i spoke something to these men too, to support a middle aged gentleman behind me but, according to my past experiences, polite people are always in minority and i was in minority before too and noone listened to me. It is the store's fault.
What do you think?

I think the cashier won't involve in customer's trouble, they just do their job, don't maintain the sequence of the Line.I hated line-cutter,however,we have to deal with line-cutter by ourselves when the cashier don't take action.

@jefferson126 yes, just saying something. i could understand if that was a newly hired person but even in that case, speak up and not act like you're a statue.
that's why i worship self checkout, the best invention just, not every store has it

Politeness is a thing of the past for many people. So many people are rude and inconsiderate today. When I was young, things were so different. Have a good day.

aahh such a "balkanic"situation
i've been in such situation many times. sometimes it's none of my business, but sometimes i just politely say "the line ends back there" and move so that the person can't stand in front of me.
but it can be so annoying when only one cashier works. i wish we had more self-checkout over there.

Unfortunately , such incidents happen . There are times we can enforce things and there are times we are helpless. The cashier should have acted promprtly and ensure people follow the line and not allow anyone to cut the line. 2 weeks agao, I had something similar. Before I could react a second line was formed where I became the first person and got my action cleared quickly. Most of the times, everyone has a reason of emergency to attend to , whereas in reality only a few would have such challenges. WWell, I agree we generally would not feel like going to the place again. You have a great day ahead!

Maybe the cashier was too afraid of the two men to speak up, but they didn't even speak to the young lady whom I suppose looked less threatening, so I don't really know.
It doesn't help the store was short-staffed. I wouldn't go back there either ever again.

I am skipping this store for sure.yesterday i needed a bread and went to a different store.also, today someone cut in my line, sort of when i exited bus.you got to be so lame to do that.driver just announced we were coming and i was still sitting and didn't stand up but i bent on the left so i occupied the aisle and let the man behind know i was waiting too.an older man, late 50s or early 60s,men again, just went first.i wanted to say something but i was tired of unsuccessful interview and what to say to that kind of behaviour.he litetally sat on a driver's knee, metaphorically speaking.he hates to be second, obviously. Out, i saw him taking his bag leisurely, ah. An old prick

@somewitch indeed.if i really stood up,i wonder if he would push me or something. absolutely poor thing. I don't see women doing that, that stupid urge of marking their tetitory or something.
When one time,it was a year or two ago, when an older man gave me pass to exit the tram first i was shocked of those good manners. Gentlemen are really rare these days

I’ve called out a female customer who cut the line before, but I’ve never been in a situation where a man cut the line. And, to be honest, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable calling out a man most likely because men can become unpredictable. The cashier has an obligation to tell them not to cut the line, but they might be so beat down by their job they fear any verbal abuse they might get if they spoke up. Having said that, I would probably find a different store too because you shouldn’t have to put up with it. Did you call the store to complain to the manager?

I once called an elder man in a pharmacy when he was cutting in,next to this exact store and clerk shushed me,i feel just me and saying stop and then she charged this man first. He was red in face and was telling it isn't true just like these 2.i wish i spoke something and sooner in this case but,as you said it,it was a man.i was hoping a woman in front of me will speak up or they will ask who came sooner or something so we could have solved it politely.i think a woman in front of me let just the young lady to go first, not these 2.
it is disgusting to see 2 males age 45-50 and cutting in line.cashier shouldn't be maybe all at fault but,you are right, she could have said something;i feel here, they let us,customers,to handle things on our own and that isn't fair. I came to shop not to have arguments with people. I think this small store doesn't have a manager but i didn't want to stay and ask;i've sent an online complain.also, waiting in line,i seriously considered to leave the store but i didn't. But, i won't be going there for some time or permanently.

Why didn't you just say I was in line first or something. That is what I would have done.

maybe this was too long for you. One man already said they shouldn't cut in and he was ignored. i was behind the woman who let it all happen so someone did speak up but nothing changed. i was honestly shocked that one of the men who cut in was even angry, saying to that man who spoke up to mind his business so, you see.

Sometimes if I am pissed off and really waiting for the line for so long, I really do confront people who cut in the line or ask the guard or any staff to line them up in the back.... but most of the time I hold my peace.

I was always speaking up person and i mostly ended with noone doing the thing i asked. These days or last 2years,successfully or not, i am trying to take care of my health cause, there are some difficulties and,as you brilliantly pointed out,to hold my peace.next time,i will walk way.there is no guard or a manager and when i sent an online complained, they wanted me to srnd them my bill that i paid.i am not returning my purchase.so bad customer service, my friend.
