Well Golly Gee! Gas prices are down in California.! I have no idea why. But the timing is good, as my gas is running low. Not in my digestive system. In my truck.
Are gas prices stable where you live? I'll probably get some gas tomorrow after Guitar Center.
Inquiring minds want to know: Will I go to my normal discount station (away from the freeway)? Or will I slip into the Barrio and save an extra 50 cents per gallon? What would you do?

Gas is around $3 here. You should go to the Barrio and save a few million dollars.

@TheHorse $15 isn't chump change. Fill up twice so you can save $30.

$2.89 is the cheapest it has been this week. But it I'll start to go up since Thanksgiving and the election.

@thislittlepennyearns Montana is usually about a dollar lower than in CA.

@TheHorse You might, but I doubt it. I bet Montana gets prices that low.

Yes, they've been back to the usual high prices for a while, and not the exorbitantly high prices they were when war in Ukraine started. Yes, I'm typing from Europe. To be specific, a country where highway tolls are everywhere. No such thing as a freeway. I guess it depends on how much gas it takes to get in and out of the Barrio, if you're actually saving some cash. So that's what I would do: I would do the math.

@somewitch I like driving. Wind in my (what's left of my) hair, and all that.

Let's see. The Barrio is a mile away. My truck gets 20 miles per gallon. So I would have to waste 1/10 (2/20) gallon of gas to go to the Barrio (round trip). At $5/gallon (rounding up), that means fifty cents. That, in turn , means I have to buy one gallon in the Barrio to break even. If I buy 21 gallons at a 50 cent discount I save $10, which I can then invest. Wheee!

@TheHorse Yes, it's worth the "trip", especially if you don't mind driving.
