Issue with a purchase

On September 22nd I went to a lighting store near me to pick up a light fixture I had bought for my mom. It was a floor sample. Turned out it was damaged. The store doesn’t give refunds so I had to pick another light fixture to replace it and then just pay the difference in price. I was able to find something my mom liked and got it for her. The store was supposed to call me when the light fixture arrived so I can pick it up. Many weeks passed but no one called me. Last week, I contacted the store to find out what’s going on. Turned out the company the light fixture is supposed to come from didn’t have my order in their system. How is that possible? The lady I spoke with said she will place that order and will have the light fixture delivered to my mom’s house. It should arrive in about three business days. That already passed and still no delivery. Will have to contact the store again. Argh!

@lovebuglena It worked! Thanks! I had not been twisting to the left enough Now I have an extra bulb. The bulb was NOT at fault. I'll probably do a post about it tomorrow. I am pooped tonight. Just got back from Guitar Center.

Yep. My mom got it. If I hadn’t called the store to check on the status we would have been waiting forever as seems the order was never placed.

The store probably works with different companies. When you buy something from their store they order it from whichever company it is. I don’t think they themselves hold inventory. Though I could be wrong.

@kaylachan I was talking about my local lighting store. Usually I buy stuff there and pick it up there. No issues. Not a very long wait. But because of this issue they offered to ship it to my mom’s house so it’s faster.

That's a very bad service. Are they short on staff or do they always have a bad service to people? If they found out that they did not meet what they are required to, they should have do better on the next transaction and they should also apologize for the inconvenience.
