10/23/24 - Update On My Husband

I've been calling my husband for 2 days without an answer. Called the nurses' station and the nurse brought a phone to my husband. Turns out his phone ended up behind his bedside cabinet. The nurse retrieved it so now he has his cell phone and room phone to call me.
The food at this facility it pretty much meh.
My husband has a screamer in his room. While I was on the phone his roommate was screaming for an aide because he thought he was expecting an important call; and since my husband was on the phone, he thought his call couldn't come through....but he has his own phone. My husband screamed at him to be quiet; and he was. I'm afraid my husband is going to have to request another room because this guy keeps him up at night.
My husband thinks that selling the other car is a good idea. The Meals on Wheels woman is interested in buying it.
I'm going to have to start eating up some of the frozen dinners in the chest freezer that I bought for my husband before they're not good anymore.
My husband had his physical therapy evaluation yesterday. He doesn't know what the outcome was. I guess I'll have to call and talk to that department.
I appreciate all of the prayers, support and thoughts that you've sent my way.

I think they put the new people in the rooms that no one else wants.

@LindaOHio As the two bed room is paid during 100 days, would it cost a lot to pay the extra for a private room? He needs to rest and relax.

@LadyDuck It's an extra $75 per day. I have a phone conference with the social worker today; and I'm going to bring up the roommate situation with her.

@porwest My husband yelled at him to be quiet. Startled me! But the guy shut up!

@LindaOHio Bring your husband some New Year's noisemakers. If the roommate complains have him just smile evilly and ask, "I'm sorry. Was this bothering you?" And then just keep using the noisemakers. lol

Geesh, a screamer? That sounds worse than loud TV guy.

Loud roommates are never fun. My husband's uncle has a roommate but he sleeps all the time. It's weird. As for calling the hospital, it seems like the nurse's stations are getting younger and not as understanding. There's more attitude than compassion and that needs to change.

I called Medical Records at the hospital. They are sending me the results and a "release" that my husband must sign.

The food isn't supposed to be good, it's supposed to give you fuel.

I wouldn’t wanna be with a roommate that screamed a lot. I’d want piece and quiet. Glad that you found a potential buyer for your car.

The stuff in the chest freezer should last for a very, very long time. I've kept things in freezers for a year or more and there was nothing wrong with them. That's why you freeze them. To keep them for a long time if you need to. In any event, great on the prospect for the car, and hope hubby can get a better room with a less annoying roommate.

It would be very hard to rest with a screamer in the room. Maybe you can get your husband moved to another room.

If it doesn't work, invite a big brass band in to loudly practice, right in front of the main nurses' station. I'll never tell!

Glad your husband has his phone back! Honestly, I think the food in these facilities are all meh similar. Screamer - oh no. I remember a screamer down the hall from my dad - heard him loud and clear - hope he can get a quieter room. Let's see what PT says.

Hope he can change rooms and the next new person gets the screamer. Glad the phone thing was solved and you can expect your calls from hubby.
