We're having two nights away to take photos

Tomorrow we’re travelling several hours south to take photos of the horse-riding section of the Blackwood Marathon. In other years, we have taken the caravan and camped on a farming property at the end of the ridden section.
This year, we are having two nights in a bed and breakfast place and leaving the caravan at home. This will take much less effort on Vince’s part and we can share the driving.
There are five sections to the marathon: running, swimming, paddling a canoe, horse-riding and bike-riding. The Iron Men, Women and Juniors tackle all five sections but others form teams with each person doing one section.
The photo is from last year’s marathon. Such a lot has happened since then.

Good that you can share the driving, that would be good for Vince as he can relax a bit. Hope that you have a great time there taking photos. We would wait to see those pictures here in your posts.

Looks like exciting times for you.
I suppose the weather would be in the comfortable zone for you and the mercury has not started rising much.
Looking towards reading about your trip tales and pictures!
I hope that Vince is doing fine!
Best of wishes!

Thanks for the good wishes. yes, Vince is doing very well but it will be good not to have to worry about the caravan. The weather is ideal but I think it is going to get hotter next week.

Nice photo. If I am on team, I will take on swimming than running.

Some of the teams are very competitive. I have distant relatives who do all five sections on their own.

Yes, so very much has happened since last year's marathon.
I am happy to hear that you will still attend it this year, I know how you both enjoy taking photos.
Staying at a B&B is a nice alternative to camping, especially if it means that it is easier on Vince.
We just received news a couple of days ago that my hub's eldest brother, Bob, will have a heart bypass operation done next Wednesday. He is travelling to a hospital 3.5 hours from his home for the surgery. Since he is a widower he will have to bring in hired nurses to care for him after the surgery. With it being autumn and cold and flu season, he will be quarantined for the foreseeable future. We need to rely on text messages and facetime to keep in contact with him.

Sending prayers and very best wishes for Bob's full recovery. It is difficult when a person has no support nearby.

We made the decision about a fortnight ago but Vince is very much better even since that time. A B & B is still a good idea though.

No, not really. We've taken photos at horse endurance rides for some years. I really just help out my husband. He used to do wedding and debutante photos, etc but he always had another job as well.
