Today I will have a short phone meeting with my husband's new social worker and I think with someone from physical therapy. I guess they want to know what we expect. We expect for my husband to come home some day.
We need to do something about my husband's roommate. My husband needs to be transferred to another room.
My husband's records for the ultrasound of his heart are being sent to me from the hospital in the mail along with an authorization for my husband to sign.
My husband said they had him walk and walk and walk in PT yesterday. He was exhausted and fell asleep when he returned to his room.
Thank you for your continued prayers, support and thoughts.

@LindaOHio I know, it must just break your heart, but he is still the same guy on the inside, he cannot help that his body is failing him. You know that already.

Thank you. Back before February 1 my husband was robust, could walk, drive. It's a pity seeing him this way.

(The walking is very good) That's what I'm saying, I know
when I got where I could stay awake long enough after
being in a coma for 3 mons they got me up & moving
Each & every day even if I didn't feel good to get out of bed.

Just praying that he will be back home. It would be good to change the room if he is not comfortable with the roommate.

I am sure that the new room will be convenient for him.
The walking he did was indeed tiring.

@Dreamerby Long story. He fell off the porch on February 1. He was in and out of the hospital and rehab. In rehab he fell several times and broke his hip. Had surgery and all this time he was in bed and lost a bunch of weight and became very weak. He is still trying to recover. Before this he was robust, was walking and driving. Now he looks thin and old and frail.

@LindaOHio Hello. I actually wanted to ask you something. What happened to your hubby? Is he recovering from a stroke or something like that?

I sure pray that they are listening, & up on their game of how to
get him in a better place with his health, & not just shift him around.

And the walking is part of what will make him stronger. I hope his heart records give some insight into what he needs. Has anyone mentioned a pace maker for the AFIB?

I hope you husband will be able to come home. Could you get a caregiver for him through your health insurance?

Be sure to ask the social worker if he/she has any contacts or resources for agencies or departments that assist seniors in remaining at home when they are discharged from hospitals/rehabs/etc. If he does progress to the point where a return home could be attempted then things already need to be in place before he is moved. And, as much as it sucks, you should also start researching what your options are (what what assistance is available) if he needs to go to a long-term facility. Better to be prepared than have to scramble at the end.

Yes ma'am. I wish you could have seen him back in February. He was robust, a bit overweight, he could walk, he could drive....Now he's thin and frail.

If you are going to be talking to the social worker, maybe that would be a good opportunity to ask about a different room? I hate that he got yet another loud roommate!

WHAT???? They’re sending things through the mail?????? Sheesh, even in a backwoods place like Kentucky my medical records are shared electronically! My doctor can see the results of my ER visit from Illinois earlier this year, for instance.
Anyway, I hope he gets straightened out and in a quieter environment.

Hope that your hubby can be transferred to a different room
I'm certainly hoping this facility helps your husband build up his stamina and that maybe he will be able to come home.
Hope those phone calls go well
