Why do you call a person on the interview if the only obstacle is...

That a person would be late 20 minutes and doesn't have a car and the only transportation person has is a public one. And employer knew that. Employer telling they didn't know cause we talked over sms messages and not over phone is one bs. I apologized but also said i am disappointed how i was treated and that move is on them. I also said this is my last shot. It's so sad what they did and what is most important to them but why not some sincerity. According to the law, i had to show up in person, there was no official testing and i spent 3days also studying for nothing. But why couldn't i make that decision and not them. Stressing me that other employees travel too is unbelievable. I could have said i'll pay myself a room in this city yet, from what. Why are they giving false hopes,i wonder and if they were human, why toying with people. They should have paid my bus ticket then. I am on a bus station and going back to my city. I travelled 50km to get on this interview. I was dedicated but them, not. What else to say... then to quote Hamlet, something is rotten in the state of Croatia.

The headmistress said she couldn't reach me over phone and was hoping i have a solution for not being 20 minutes. She had email, messages and i said that to her but she was acting. She just wanted to see me and meet me was her next response. I heard that 200 times already. I was a fool to trust her and her word, a shameful person. Thank you,ah,always something bad, never something good.

@grenery8 What is this unprofessional behavior? That too from a headmistress! Were you applying for a teacher position?

Thank you for not mocking me. I gave it a try, felt positive, trusted this person's words she was interested in hiring me, wasted my money and i will try not repeating the same foolish mistake. I have another interview on monday for a teaching position, part-time, but at least is 10minutes from me. just, who knows what kind of surprise they will throw me. Thank you again.

Bus was late so i was also waiting additional 30minutes and i felt weak and honestly sick about the whole thing. I wish this half person all the worst. She called me last week and i also said i travel only by a public transportation so,in her mind, how could i change that. Just now i wrote her an email asking for some humanity.if she won't reconsider it, i have a bus at 1:15at night and will have to spend 4 hours on a bus station. as unmarried woman and at that time,i feel it won't be safe but i wrote that.i mean, she was asking me to come to a solution on me being 20minutes late.at some point i even said i'm not a god,i can't change that and that decision is on her. 20minutes. How people could cooperate before.it wasn't even an hour.pathetic. she even mentioned one employee having a baby, i mean, how is that my problem. For not having a permanent job position, noone was romantically interested in me all these years. I might not get married or have children, not entirely my fault and always getting low kicks like this. Being single in everything isn't the best thing ever. i know she is a person on position and i wouldn't be surprised that someone already works there, like in september, when she called me saying she needed a substitute for a month, then nothing, that they employed someone else. I was such a fool to believe that kind of low moral people. My only question is why was she calling me all this time if she wasn't interested to hire me. Sick person,my friend and it is awful. Really awful. Thank you for understanding me.

@grenery8 That's awful.. she should not have called you if hiring was not in plan. It's waste of your time and money to travel so far. Please take care. Sending some positive thoughts there.

@grenery8 i feel like you always need to have some connections to get a job in big cities. anyways, don't beat yourself up about it. i'm sure there will be more opportunities. if nothis else works - you can always look for jobs somewhere else in the world

@aureategloom i know but i just wanted to emphasise how one capital city doesn't offer much, that you can struggle until your last days and i'm also lower in energy, unlike you, younger one i'll try but it's hard when you know you did most of the things but things aren't moving. Still, thank you

Thats sad to hear. At the same time , they not being considerate is something you know now. It could have been worst after joining them . They not giving you a consideration even if you are late by 20 minutes and that you have travelled a long distance , does not seem employee friendly. There are many organizations which has illtreated. Recently , one of my friends who is into college got a good offer from a college. Just as he was about to join them , they revoked his offer! Luckily , he was able to retian his old job. Looks like the college he was about to join had a rotten management. Hopefully , things wll get better for you. Take care!

I was thinking the same.if i omit my wasted money and negative emotions, how could i feel after joining them, even more stressful. Thank you for a good point and words of support. I am sorry for your friend;college, dorm, bigger shots, if they don't have a human treat, it is pointless and better management. I am also glad he retained his job;that was some luck. I wish something good happens;i am unhappy for a long time and wish i could bring some happiness back to my life. Thank you so much. Take care as well.

Wow, I didn't expect that. So sorry to hear. Yes, crazy they want you to either have a car or enough money to not just pay for bus tickets, but a hotel or even a taxi that gets you there at whatever hour they say. If you had that money, you wouldn't be looking for a job in the first place. It shouldn't be that hard to understand. I hope you came back home safely. At least you won in terms of work ethics and seriousness, but I know it might just be a meager consolation.

@somewitch i walked, rode a 2 buses, one tram and the same thing back so, yes, 100 km and maybe more. as you said, just. i actually felt relaxed in this inner city bus because i was used to travel to see my parents and that ride was always 3 hours. i even said to this headmistress, i am travelling since i'm 14 years old. i felt she wanted me to say, it is hard to travel. yeah, right. it really was but, when i came, i liked smaller city atmosphere. cars were stopping, not cutting my walk like they do here. yes, it's not easy to travel but when we are motivated, it can be manageable. all in all, resting for now

exactly. if i had majority of those things, why would i travel 50km in one direction to her. it was like talking to a person that is not from this planet, who doesn't know how hard life. i did arrive safely to my home city, thank you but bus was 30 minutes late and i felt it was longer, maybe considering how i felt. and imagine this, most of the city center, when the dorm is was under construction, i walked on sand in the middle of a road and other materials cause they were making the road actually, walking zone for pedestrians so, i went through many things today. you are right, i didn't expect that too cause she was calling me in september 2 times, last week and this week on monday. actually, i didn't want to pick up this monday and her asking me about the car so we exchanged sms messages but if something was a big issue, she could have gotten in touch with me and excuses that i could have a solution and other rubish sentences she couldn't reach me is beyond any normal explanation or behaviour. it is funny the only fear i had today, before this interview, was bus from my neighbourhood being late for 5 minutes but all other things went well. it is awful they couldn't end like that. when she wished me a safe trip back, at the end of our interview (let's call it an interview and not her repeating sentences and saying she had to see me) i didn't feel it cause it was false. i sent an email as well after i arrived in my place that i really want to work and i am disappointed if the only obstacle is me being late, just as a proof. calling me all the time, there is no proof and i wanted to leave this one. thank you for being the only person for acknowledging my effort. trip wasn't long but i went from my flat at 7:50 a.m. and got back to 1:45 p.m. that's some portion of a day.

@grenery8 That was quite an adventure, public transportation is no fun here either, although 30 minutes would be exceptionally late for a bus. But I know how long it can take to go back and forth even when it's "only" 50 km, and maybe you had to take more than a bus. At least it sounded like that.
