Do you ever crave a certain food?

A few weeks ago I was craving beef. I had been eating a lot of chicken and knew I needed something different. I went to Everett and Jones, a local BBQ place, and had brisket of beef. It was good. A few days later, I was craving pasta. I rarely eat pasta at home. I bought some rainbow rotini (the swirly ones), four cheese bottled pasta sauce, and some Parmesan cheese. I ate pasta for about three days. For the past three days, I have been craving Mexican food. Not Taco Bell. Real Mexican food. I wet to my favorite Mexican place after work yesterday and got a pollo burrito. I ate a third of it. I will have more of it for lunch today before Guitar Center. We'll see what I crave tonight. I have sushi about once a week. And a hot dog once every other week. Do you ever have cravings? Do you satisfy them? Photo is of 1/3 of a burrito with hot sauce and peppers.

I like sweet stuff and salty stuff. That about covers most snacks, I think.

Few comments I read that Sushi in America does not taste anything like in Japan! I also get craving of many street and fast food like gupchup, chowmein, pampdi chat, aloo chat, samosa, aloochop, vada!

The sushi I have had here tastes similar from place to place. I have never been to Japan.

@anya12adwi I have not asked the chefs where their parents came from. They are mostly Asian, though.

I don't think you are pregnant but only need something different. I get tired of the same thing every day. I think anyone would. You can be thankful for life's blessings but still want a variety once in a while or more often.

I am glad to have my "staples." But I do need a change now and again. I don't think I'm pregnant, but my tummy does look rather Poohish right now.

Sure. Don't we all? 99.9% of the time it's pizza, Chinese or fried chicken for me. I usually eventually satisfy it.

What's odd about me (among other things) is that I rarely crave pizza. But I enjoy it when I eat it.

Are you pregnant?! That's a cute burrito, by the way. No cravings here, except for food in general. I've been hungry. Well, maybe salad. And a burrito craving at this very moment.

Sometimes I do crave for certain things. Sometimes, it could be a Fried Indian Food. Or certain Pizzas/Burgers. It could be something Sweet at times. And at some times, it could be something light, bland and healthy.

I get my friend chicken at Safeway. It is better than KFC. I can get some cole slaw and mashed potatoes if I want to.

I have cravings all the time but no one to cook for me. We had pizza and Chinese the day my husband came home; and his dinners are in the freezer so I can eat those. There's also his leftover pizza in the freezer. I want pork and sauerkraut, BBQ ribs, a turkey hamburger, a bowl of soup with Ramen noodles added, etc. Have a good weekend.

When you feel you are deprived of something for long, there is a good probability to feel craving. I had a craving for Indian dish "masla dosa" while I was in US. I was living in an area where the dish is not easily available and well I found through a friend's wife that 50 miles from where I lived , there was an Indian restaurant which served the same. Well, for next three weeks feasted on same. I did later have a craving for Arabian food and well did satisfy although it was expensive. So when you have a craving , normally it is better to satisfy the craving instead of fighting about food craving. Well, hope you enjoyed the authentic Mexican food. Have a good weekend!

I happened to do some research on cravings a few years ago. I found that sometimes our bodies will crave certain things if we happen to be deficient in vitamins these foods have in them. I found that interesting. I do have cravings and, yes, I do satisfy them most of the time.

Yes, I often have cravings. Recently, I was craving pasta, so I made some at home using simple ingredients I had in my pantry. Hehe
