An Ohio State Trooper showed kindness when he saw a dog running on Interstate 71 in Medina County on Tuesday October 15.
The trooper whose name was not mentioned picked up the loose male dog who answers to the name Winston inside of his patrol car.
The troopers were able to locate the owner of Winston after they found a microchip on the dog and reunite Winston with his owner the same day.
How did Winston get to run by himself on an interstate highway hopefully was by accident and not by the owner wanting to get rid of his pet.

@aureategloom That is true that some owners leave their pets on the road when a storm comes.

It makes me so nervous to hear about dogs running on the interstate. I'm glad he was caught and microchipped. Have a good weekend.

Maybe, inadequate fencing, is responsible here, and the dog just escaped from the yard of the owner.

I hope that it was an inadequate fence problem.
