There are many dance competitions these days and what I see is more of trapeze acts and acrobatics, They all have names - hip hop, lyrical, freestyle, popin, fusion and more. I would any day prefer the good old dance forms - waltz, tap, ballet, cha cha cha, tango, salsa to name a few The good old dances needed a partner and there are no acrobatics in these dances. Hope one day I will get to watch those dances that have grace and style Image credit:

@allknowing That's right, but at public dances here we always request for chacha especially if there's a gathering for seniors.

I learned to dance Waltz from our maid when I was only 8 years old. My husband is a good dancer, he learned from his mother.

I had dreams to have my first dance with my husband. My bro-in-law who was a great dancer wanted to teach me but I refused and do you know my husband never danced? We did not even have that bridal dance on our wedding day!!!

@allknowing - We did not have the habit of the bridal dance. I think my Dad was very happy about this, he never danced during all his life. My husband loved to dance.
