Are your weekends becoming more stressful than weekdays due to social and financial commitments?

In fast paced world of today, most people including me are becoming stressful than ever before. Almost a decade earlier, we could have a good rest on weekends and rejuvenate ourselves. Now, it is a mad rush to fulfil social obligations. Parties, family gatherings and meetups give us less room for genuine rest and relaxation. Again, in order to maintain a good social life, we ned to spend time and money, which at times leads to financial stress. Sometimes, we are forced to attend a few social events due to family or peer pressure rather personal choice. There comes a point when we get mentally and physically burnout due to all juggling of commitments. Again, there are housewives who crave to be out in all the weekends whereas their husbands who had been working hard on weekdays, wants to just relax. Worse, there are few who work hard on weekends on part time assignments to get the extra income to fight their debts and meet their immediate needs. While weekends are meant for relaxing, do not feel that’s the case with a vast majority as they dread through one of the above lines and have less time to rejuvenate. Not, sure but perhaps a relaxed weekend sems to be an elusive one for many. Currently there are challenges in balancing duties and obligations and time off. What’s your take – Are your weekends becoming stressful than weekday due to social and financial commitments?

I'm usually busy with family. Social life outside of family is overrated, I got bored of doing the same things over and over with "friends" and wasting money on mundane activities. So yeah, it's still quite stressful but it could be way worse.

Somehow your situation seems to be in a big resonance with what I feel as well. Health, Festival needs and other commitments make one feel so restricted. Weekend rest is much more limited in the last few weeks. And I like going outside but not a wild seeker of opportunities to go outside. And well, not everyone is the same in the family. All these means less relaxation and more stress.

@RevivedWarrior Plus sometimes we have to devote more time than what we planned. So being happy in such a scenario could be a task!

It used to be sometimes when I was working. Now that I am retired it's less of an issue.

Well, that's one of the blessing of being retired. But I am also aware of retirees who are still doing odd jobs and completely stressed out even on weekends! Thanks for sharing!

I have to spend my weekdays with my physical store and weekends for a relaxing weekend like staying in my silent room and have a cool air all over my body.
