What Do You Like to Do This Time of Year?

I enjoy decorating for Halloween. It is my favorite holiday and is when the vail between this world and the spirit world is thinnest. And, I love it! I like to do all the eerie, spiritual things. I enjoy ghost stories, those vamps, and visits from ancestors. I remember when my grandson was a toddler and he saw his first spirit. He is gifted that way. I have some real stories of my experiences at cemeteries and visits from family members who are no longer on this plane. So, do you enjoy decorating and doing all the traditional Halloween things like apple bobbing, bon fires, pumpkin carving and haunted house visits? We used to go to the corn field mazes, hay rides, and etc. I don't drive anymore so we quit going. I am enjoying pressing leaves even now. Do you remember doing that in school? I happened to add a picture I took of a leaf on my pretty green quilt. I hope it uploads okay.

I have always enjoyed Halloween, In Latvia, they are not too excited but at home we carved a pumpkin and had our own kind of fun, I no longer participate, As a child it was the time of the ready-made costumes and paper masks, I always wanted to be a witch but mom wanted me to be a princess,

Happy special day to you. I think Halloween was more popular years back. It doesn't seem to be nowadays.

I love this time of the year. I begin decorating for autumn on Labour Day weekend, and just add to it as the season progresses. The last items to be added are pumpkins, and they are added when we celebrate Thanksgiving, which was a couple of weeks ago. I do not intentionally decorate for Halloween, only autumn. I always take it down on November 10th in respect for Remembrance Day on the 11th.

I see. I celebrate Shanhaim and it has more to do with the harvest. I celebrate the earth any way I can.

Haven't had a trick or treater since 1979. Living in the woods must be a turn off.

My favorite things are 70s temps and the pretty leaves. Other than that I hate the shorter days and the winter that is to follow. Have a good day.

I loved this time around while I was in US. Kids would come for their treats. I loved the decorations and costumes and well it was fun to see all these as an Indian who was first time to US. Well, in this part of the world, well we do have Diwali celebrations and then it is almost time for Christmas and New Year. There will be lot fo year end sales. However most schools and colleges would have their exams before Christmas , so no fun for children and parents until the exams are over. Guess , with less hikes and sales this time , most families have challenges in properly enjoying the days. You have a great time!

That time after the new year is some time to sigh and get on with the new one.
