Van Ha who is 71 years old is grateful that someone named Skip was at the Market Basket grocery store In Shrewsbury Massachusetts on Sunday September 22 when she carried her life savings of $12,000 dollars in her possession when she thought that she lost her life savings when she returned home from shopping. Van contacted her nephew Truong Huynh who is 55 years of age that she admitted that she made an error in judgement of carrying a huge amount of money inside of her purse that may have been lost at the shopping center or the parking lot. After Ha and Truong did speak to the employees and management about the missing money and they were disappointed to come up empty handed, Market Basket manager Dan Defosses went to meet the couple to inform them that a customer named Skip returned the envelope to the customer service center. Van and Truong decided to reward Skip and his girlfriend who works in the grocery store a reward of $300 dollars. Van and Truong are impressed of the honesty of Skip returning the lost envelope to the customer service center instead of taking the money for himself. I just hope that Van has learned a lesson not to carry huge amounts of money in her possession when she goes shopping or running other errands. Link is goodnewsnetwork.org/good-samaritan...

That's a lot of money to be carrying around. I always think how I would feel if it were me who lost it.

I can relate to what you are saying since losing money in a wallet or purse is very sad.

It's very dangerous carrying large sums of money around these days, not only might you lose it accidentally, but you might be mugged and it stolen from you too. I doubt that the old lady will place the money in a bank though; she might just place it under the mattress of her bed, next time she goes out. Old people seldom learn, as they are so set in their ways.
