After the rains the red spinach is grown in big quantities in Bengal. The red spinach looks red. It is called lal shak in bengali. It is eaten as a vegetable with rice by adding boiled potatoes. Sometimes it is used to make a dish called chachari.

yes youless it has a unique taste and also after it is boiled and converted into vegetable dish by adding potatoes and peas it looks red

I love spinach. But the ones we have here are just green spinach (with a little red at the head of the vegetable).
