Today is football day which is the only sport I really follow. I have been watching it since I was a kid. I am passionate about the local team which is doing well for a change, after a long drought. Which team do you like, and which sports do you follow? Are you an avid or a casual fan?

Well, you know the answer to the question for me! I got into football at 15, and inherited my dad’s love/hate relationship with the Cowboys. Thankfully, I also love the KC Chiefs. Of course I root for certain players, like Kirk Cousins and Baker Mayfield, but the “rooting” changes to whatever team they happen to be on.
I loved the NBA since playing basketball as a child, and was a crazy Michael Jordan fan. In the last five years my love of the game has waned as the players have become more entitled and ungrateful. I root for the OKC Thunder because, well, Oklahoma. But basketball is undoubtedly my third favorite sport now.
And then baseball is right under football as my favorite sport. I love the St. Louis Cardinals, and my second favorite team is the New York Yankees. Derek Jeter is my favorite player ever. I love that guy. And, while the Yankees are currently playing the Dodgers in the World Series, it seems unlikely they will overcome their 2-0 game deficit this year.
I just love sports. They’re the best.

Oh I wasn't aware you liked basketball and baseball too. I like to watch baseball in person, but not on TV.

@snowy22315 Baseball IS much better in person, you’re right. I used to go to Texas every summer to catch the Yankees play the Rangers.

When I was younger, I watched the NBA with my late grandfather. We really enjoyed it together. However, after he passed away, I lost interest and stopped following it.

I like professional bowling as well as women's artistic gymnastics. Put in some college football in the mix as well.

Baseball is the game for me. I’m a fan of the NL Central, it seems — Cubs, Cardinals, and Reds. I would say I’m avid, because I pay for the MLB TV subscription to watch any game. (That is $120 a year, while cable is $180 a month…just economics!) Rooting for the Dodgers in the World Series.
I love hockey, too, but not to the point of having the subscription service. I have no interest in football or basketball.

When my husband was home we religiously watched the Browns every Sunday. Now that he's not home, I've lost interest. I also used to watch a lot of tennis and beach volleyball. Have a good week.

I do not follow just one sport . I follow soccer , tennis and cricket. Like you , I started watching all the international matches from the age of 9 and well I have passionate about tennis. I was a big fan of Pete Sampras and now it is Novak all the way. In soccer, I do have likes for different teams. Coming to cricket , I follow Indian team . I am not a diehard fan but yes I am fan of all these . I do feel sad when my favoruite players or team lose but not that I would be crying all day long. I have heard stories of soccer fans who have ended lives becuase their favoruite team lost. So, I am more of the enjoyment fan and would like to be in that way. Interesting to know your thoughts!

I used to follow football but I quit when Joe Namath retired. I used to follow basketball but I quit when Wilt Chamberlin retired. Same with baseball and Babe Ruth.
