This may have never happened before. The Horse was talking to his high school buddy, Allen. Allen was a fellow high school audio geek and classical music lover. While talking to Allen, the Horse switched from Marartz Imperial 6s to Dynaco A-25 loudspeakers. Both were made in 1971 or so. Dynaco A-25s were the speakers that The Horse had in late high school. Allen had Smaller Advents. The sound of the Dynaco A-25s is quite good, but The Horse still slightly prefers the Marantz Imperial 6s, which he had not heard of "back in the day." Do you have animated conversations with old friends about things that might seem absurd to those you did not grow up with? Anyway, here is the front of my listening room as it stands today. The blank space to the middle-right is where the Dynacos usually live. I always have a pair here, for sentimental value. Oh oh. Opera on now. I don't do opera. Time to turn off the main stereo.

I got into a text discussion with my childhood best friend when I reminded her she once had Steven Seagal on our crush list in school. She said that was no worse than some of the guys I had on my list, and we went back and forth on that inanity.

When I was in Graduate School, a lot of the undergraduate girls had posters of Tom Cruise on their walls. I just accepted it.

@TheHorse How silly to pick Tom Cruise! Who knew he was crazy?

I don't really 'do' opera either. I can never pick up the words and if I could I guess they'd mostly be in Italian. Operas have the most convoluted and absurd plots sometimes.

The absurd plats probably make them fun for those who enjoy opera. I just don't like that style of singing. But my Sunday sacred music makes me weepy. Are you familiar with the Tasmanian Devil from Bugs cartoons? I always identified with him.

@TheHorse No, not really. Then agan neither was I. I know a few artists and I do enjoy it, but if you asked me about it, I'd probably look at you funny.

@kaylachan Sigh. As I am an old man, I know you you are probably younger than me. Did you at least enjoy Dire Straits, Richard Thompson and REM?

@TheHorse I know. They're full of boring words that no one understands. And they don't have cheerleaders. Sports is better.

I was lucky in high school all my friends were into the same teen idols and so whatever we played everyone agreed on and we could keep the music going,
