Getting into the Trump Rally at MSG

Went to the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden. Tens of thousands waiting in line for hours to get in. Thankfully we managed to get inside. Before they let us go into the venue we had to go through a checkpoint. We had to empty our pockets and then go through a metal detector. Once we passed through that a guy told us to spread our arms and he scanned a thing all over us to see if there’s anything on us. Then we had to wait for the TSA guy to go through our stuff. He opened all the zippers in my bag and checked every pocket and then took everything out. He examined my keychain and all my keys. He opened up my wallet and looked through it and then unzipped the coin compartment and looked in there too. He checked the thing that held my tissues. I felt like I was at the airport checkpoint. Only difference was we weren’t asked to take off our shoes.

I guess after the assassination attempt they were taking no chances.

Probably. They weren’t allowing a lot of things inside. No vaping stuff of any kind. Hubby had his Juul and they took it away. Whatever stuff wasn’t allowed they threw into garbage cans or boxes. I saw some nice hand bags there. I guess they were bigger than the size allowed and the women had to confiscate them. Seems you couldn’t get any of the stuff back that was taken away from you.

@lovebuglena Wow! I don’t know that I would have gone in if I couldn’t get my high end bag back. I guess they could probably afford to buy a new one though.

@AmbiePam if you wanted to go to the rally they had you register, even though it was free to get in. Then you got an email and it said in it what you cannot bring. I knew big bags weren’t allowed so took a small one. I guess not everyone read the email or registered.

That was quite a check. As Amber said, it's probably because of the assassination attempt. Have a good week.

I was upset when the guy was going through my wallet. That has never happened to me at airports.

Good thing they didn't ask us to remove our shoes. We did have to remove our jackets though.

I imagine after two assassination attempts there is going to be heightened security and that's a good thing. Better to be safe than sorry. Glad you were able to attend. Did you enjoy the rally and what were some of the high points for you?

Was it worth all the trouble to get in?
